  1. Is anyone going to name this product that is sure to work i need all the help i can get !
  2. Probably no chance but that i would think is what the site is all about [talk] discusion ,air views, even though its sometimes pointless .
  3. 98x£25 37x£20 4x£10 = 139 FED members and in our club 15 members .
  4. I have just come back to this game and yes ,63 disabled with bad health but i took the birds back to keep me sane and what i have found as regards premotion of our hobby has not improved in the 10 years that i have been away your ordinary lad on the street knows nothing as regards what goes on in fact a lot of them think they fly to the race point ,they dont know the orginisation that is going on week in week out,so what i say is lobby papers ,magazines get the media on our side, oh and let new members in for nothing pay their fees, and dont throw them out if they start winning. And by the way i will be racing 2year old and yearlings trained but never raced so i will report back on doing away with young bird racing but i have a feeling that it will be :crying:
  5. Up here we are £25to the Fed £15 for SHU ,for the club its £25 membership The birdage old and young is 35p longer races 50p and two longest races 60p per pigeon ,just thought it would be interesting to hear from others.
  6. As a matter interest how much do members pay for fed & club dues and rings etc the reason i ask is because the money prizes farer south appear to be far greater than what is flown for up here and i just wondered where the money was generated, is it because of the larger orginisations ,or the price you pay for birdage ,fees or what ,enlighten me .
  7. Keep the heid lads just brought up this to get fowks thoughts nae to start a war of words .
  8. JOHNSEE I am of the same opinion as you there are as much different potions now a days ,who knows what is in them the way things are with losses and different sickness maybe the birds are being dosed with health damageing chemicals and fanciers dont know it already.
  9. What i mean is the likes of steroids in one form or another could be used to put on muscle prior to a race not that I am saying they are ,I just think if the use of drugs are common place on the Belgium dutch etc scene then somebody will or has used them here.
  10. Due to the article of Brasspening in the BHW magazine regarding illegal substances being used in Belgium ,Holland etc how much of these substances are coming to this country via bus trips and organised tours ,and after reading another article on our site regards cayenne pepper it actualy i am told holds a pain killing property is this a drug !!? what do others think .No disrespect to the member who asked the question regarding cayenne pepper.
  11. After all those simple ,natural sugestions ie clean water ,grit, cider vinegar, fresh air ,dry loft everything we can get for next to nothing do we medicate with all different chemicals and think it does our birds good ,all we are doing is giving some one a good living for what ! my favourite is potasium permagnate good for the control of infection through the drinker.
  12. Thats just what I was looking ebay for yesterday cant make up my mind though as I was wondering about a chimney out the end of my loft made with plastic drainage pipes ,I have a corridor and amount of bloom gathering in it isnt real so something will need to be done.
  13. Well I have been away for the birds for a while but that has given me some new info I never realised artficial insimination was being used ,but why not its done with other animals and the like.Never thought.
  14. Well if your anything like me you dont! believe all you read ,imagine having a pigeon in your loft with tremendous racing ability or breeding ability ,you could sell there ofspring a hundred times over and the potential buyer only has its place of orign as a proven truth not what its bred off.
  15. If they were to put it on the cost of fuel woudnt they first have to make sure that the whole country was paying the same per iitre ,the Highlands and most of Scotland pay more than the south but I do agree it would get hold of those that dont tax there car .
  16. Cold here a slight covering of snow but at least the wind has gone down.
  17. I should hope not but on saying that there is more chance of that happening than the Westminster Leaders dealing with him they have no hope against his intellect nor his debating ability.
  18. Gale blowing here in Turriff along with hail and snow showers buckets blown over ,but the doos are fed thanks tae the wife she is a great help .
  19. I am of the same opinion if you start looking into a strain you find they are called one thing but in reality they are a mixture of peoples pigeons ie sherlakens have Hoffkin,Janssen and what ever else god knows through them I often think rather than look for something special I should take my own advice and stop getting caught up in the strain game and concentrate on what we have, but its just the lure of the adverts.
  20. Has anyone on here heard of Sherlacken pigeons or am i just dreamen the name up & does anyone know who flys them today.
  21. Breeding is just a stab in the dark good racers & breeders dont necessarliy pass there qualities on ,but obtaining your stock from a loft that does its share of winning gives you a chance ,books, old hand or what ever are just a good read ,theories ,ideas secret formulas just propoganda to reel the fancier in well thats my opinion for what its worth ,but it certainly not worth arguing about ,so good luck to all in there breeding as thats just what it is .
  22. I havent shown doos myself not for any particular reason but if in your position iwould keep them in basket then next day let them fly back to there box or perch good learning ,a night away from home!
  23. Sunny but cold here a frost like chill in the air.
  24. If i remember correctly the hen would be the dominant factor as the hen passes on its traits through genes to the cocks and the cocks pass on there traits through genes to the hens .I did use to know more about this as i did a lot of reading on this but i have forgoten more than i learned ,there are some guys who are sht hot on this and they would be more help, check net for pigeon genetics.
