Hi Ryan its 330 mile tae Banff ,I read an old article once about a Banff doo making the race and it was out of time i think it was 1963 and if i am nae mistaken it was Waldie or some of his freens cant remember

Some fowk that i know hardly handle a doo in their shed ,they usher them into the basket to train and to take to the race ,when asked about losses the reply is ,Awe thats just young doos ye have tae keep them gan ,thats just the doo game ,they keep over a hundred doos tae win a cardboard ticket ,if us lesser mortals dont race every week we are classed as not the real fanciers of the Federation this i have been told when it comes to an opinion even on here ,but the truth is i win nothing usually i send doos to race when and if it suits ,i know every doo in my shed ,i vaccinate my birds (does everyone ??)i keep them healthy well fed and in plenty room and every doo i lose i am fair sick ,the pleasure i get from my birds at the back door far excel the paper ticket ,Am i good or bad ???

Leave him on his own for a week ,not seeing a hen then present him with the hen of your choice ,if poss keep her on her own as well.nae probs!!

I kinda agree with you ,a good doo, is a good doo ,regardless, if it is still going to be in your shed in a years time all the better but unlike you there is not a lot that would take the chance of nae training just to see the result.But on saying that what happened years ago with little or no transport ,i am sure fowk were not getting on their bike and going 20 mls every second day eh??

IMO the bolt from the basket is the thing that needs to be learned ,when the door drops they should be out ,on your first toss you often see doos still in basket that have to be ushered out ,thats nae use on release .

IMO ,no difference if we have it or dont ,if there is an attack on Britain probably Faslane we will be wiped out the only thing is if we have it we can strike back on the event of an attack ,as a threat of don't hit us or we will hit you senario the attacker pushing the button will probably be a maniac with no control on his logical thoughts so ??

Aye you are right trying to train my young birds is to much stress for me ,had 20 on darkness down to about 12 most lost round about the village ,basketed for first toss 27 lost 4 and 2 hurt and came in ones or twos until next day ,today basketed 23 again all coming back split up ,where have the days gone when they landed in a batch and maybe 1 or 2 slightly late ,its really pissing me of ,and all this from 10 mile toss .I am seriously thinking of not racing young doos as i am damned if i am breeding 50-60 young doos to end of with 15 tae 20 .

Come and race up North of Scotland there nae such a thing as sprint a 60 mile or a 100 mile can turn out to be endurance race ,nae joking .

There was always traveling to Europe before the setting up of the EU ,as far back as the 18th 19th century this wont change ,as for study abroad they don't have to go there when the best education in the world is here ,though i m8ust say the cuts Westminster has put on education no doubt has taken its toll.

Hydrated lime to powdery IMO ,bad on my breathing so cant be good on birds thats why i use garden lime and sand as opposed to builders lime ,but the reason i use lime is it kills any infections etc in birds droppings when it hits the floor .
