Heart breaking RIP

I have asked this question and to be honest i think no time is good with regards to hawks ,i was thinking of letting my youngsters out 3.00pm hoping by that time hawk would have had kill ,but who knows ?? i dont.

I dont know if this is relevant but some fowk are feeding protein after race then carbs Tues onwards ,protein helps restore muscle and ids recovery :unsure:

The hawk was back the day to me,youngsters out for 10 mins all hell broke lose birds all over sky 3 dropped between sheds 2 between wall and shed in a gap about 8" had to rescue them with shaft of a brush ,didnt see hawk coming but it missed so all back in shed ,whats best time to let them out do you think.

Aye JohnQuinn you say you dont train birds that have been raced last year ,is that all ages i was toying with this idea as they are flying well at home ,i am doing natural cheers in advance for reply .I will be racing to plastic eggs where poss.

Up date Alf just 1 down out of the team i let out ,but as sods law would have it, a mealy i liked is the one missing so 2nd day out the day and got them all in, it took an hour or so .

I will tell you what it is like a fool i bred early( my mistake!! ) got impatient ,now i suffer ill health Emphasema and Angina and i can hardly get about outside so cold ,winds ,frost etc half kills me trying to get breath ,so the birds had to wait for better weather ,i have done it this way before and it worked out ok,this time up to now have got them all back bar 3 so heres hoping for return of the three .

I had 24 youngster 1st time out the day ,all eyes changed early bred ,all over the sky have some home and in ,a few still to come its a worry this youngsters eh!!!

Its a sparrow hawk thats my problem ,well its what i have seen but on saying that over the last few months i have seen a bird high up ,it beats it wings once or twice then floats in a circle this thing i have watched ends of going higher and higher nearly out of sight would this be a perigrin .

Is there pure blood birds any where ,dont think so mysell .

Just vaccinated birds the day i had some latebreds and one i had bought in a sale ,i had ETS rings allocated for these birds last year so thought i would get the ets rings put on today to save double handling and to my disgust 5 missing ,i knew the hawk had been active during the winter but my losses of the loft is 6 birds i know because their ETS are still in my box ,2 i know for fact was the hawk as i had to cull them due to horrific wounds ,how many have you lads lost.

North Scotland Fed should amalgamate in a combine with Aberdeen fed at a point when both feds feel it is stupid to run with empty transporters ,nae doubt some one will come back and say Aberdeen wid aye win ,but thats nae what its all about its about making things financially stable and to say the least sensible IMO.

I have 24 youngsters off 24 eggs ,weaned and moved into young bird shed 6 rings to fill off stock doos no more coming of racers ,so happy at this point.

I have filled in the survey but i cant see why its asked to identify the predators ,i personally dont run in for my bird book to see what it is ,i just know its a hawk.

I have 24 youngsters out of 24 eggs separated into young bird shed vaccinated & wormed the last 6 rings will come of the stock doos ,race team out every day morning ,fine pleased up to now.

Egg Bound ,I have a hen i think is egg bound ,can some one tell me what can sort this and if nothing is done do i expect the hen to die on me ,the hen just feels as though the egg is just about to be laid but nothing is happening ,at times she looks a bit ruffled the next time she is ok and cooing in bowl with cock,what you think ,i have had doos for 20yrs off and on and have not encountered this before so excuse my ignorance about this.

Aye i would say beyond what you have got dont get caught up with all the super cures advertised like most of us have done ,a lot will say i never did that !!! dont believe it, i have bought a lot of stuff that sits in the shed never used just because some one said it was great ,aye and so has most doo men mugs with their money ,keep it simple mate IMO.
