  17. My birds are only now recovering from Y.B.S. after seven days of treatment,I will however carry on with the treatment for a few days yet.I had y.b.s.4 years ago and with help from a fellow fancier they began to pick up after a couple of days what I found this time is it came virtually overnight ok on thursday night feed, went to the loft on friday morning seed every where, green slimey droppings put on treatment the same day but it seamed to be a stronger version of Y.B.S.I had heard that fanciers that had it earlier were finding birds were dying from this,I have also experienced this with 3 dying and me destroying 2..........it has been 1 helava week but the birds are looking good after seven days....has any other members found that Y.B.S.is becoming stronger like it has mutated with some other stronger virus...JBC/...

  19. Sorry Jim,In federations where they own the transporter they Elect a controller at their A.G.M. To suggest that the convoyer who may be the transporter driver or assistant should not liberate if the all clear for a liberation has been given by the controller is in my opinion wrong, what would happen if the controller said they were to be held over do you think because the weather is suitable at the race point the convoyer should over rule and liberate............Jim there has been as far back as I can remember (60s) there have been very bad smashes with heavy losses not all from distance races, many with no clear reasons for such, you just have to look at how many members train there own birds they pick the day ,the select where they liberate their birds in what most would describe as ideal conditions yet ....BANG they get cleaned out...I say let the controllers control the race....cheers.....JBC/..
  20. Jim,not sure that your right what you say.....is it not the race controllers who has the final say.......JBC/..
  21. George it was only fast for some, once again returns are very poor 45% are still missing from this latest fiasco.............. From the first qualification training from 3059 birds sent there are 156 left,is this what pigeon racing is about I dont think so,were these missing birds no good I am sure they were bred from members best and at great cost to enter, but as in years gone by the odds were against them,I see that no Scottish birds are left, sad to see......JBC/..
