It only proves that the E.T.S. ring was recorded for that race how many clubs check the bird ring number against the number scanned,e.t.s. rings can easily be changed from one bird to another.
-
A pretty difficult call in a country where you can get the four seasons weather in one day....cheersJBC/..
-
Agree there could be reasons why it is not possible to change at short notice, but at least give them the powers.
-
Then why dont members at the A.G.M. give the committee the powers to make changes in the interest and welfare of the birds in any of the S.N.F.C. races.

SO WHO WINS......... Fancier (A) sends 1 bird and records it home to the last three races.....returns 100% Fancier ( sends 100 birds to the third last race and records 100 birds....returns 100% sends 100 birds to the second last race and records 100 birds...returns 100% sends 100 birds to the last race .......and records 99 birds...returns 99% SO WHO WINS ?................................JBC/..

Ian,your correct in saying the S.H.U. makes the rules but who enforces them, both you and I know the answer is no one, brings one thing to mind are rules made to be abided by or are they made to be broken but this is for another topic.....cheers...JBC/..
-
Thanks Ian,can I ask you in your opinion in a convoy of say 4000/5000 birds that this is feasible/possible I dont think so,and I believe that each federation officials will decide the course of action to take should such a thing happen......cheers...JBC/..
-
Ian,Im not picking holes, now you as an official for 21 years please tell me what is the rule and what is supposed to happen?....JBC/..
-
George, what pigeons would this extend to? does it extend to the remainder of the convoy or what? .....JBC/. Perhaps Ian can add his view.....
-
Your right officials should know the rules after all they are the ones that would be making the decision as to what action to take, they would also have to make a decision in less time than it took you to reply to the question on this post....JBC/..
-
Ian did you know what should be done before you went on the S.H.U. site to find out ?..........JBC/..

Dismantle Current Lofts & Erect In New Location
JOHNSEE replied to glencameron's topic in Notice Board
Glen,if they are sectional they should not cause much bother, the Eco loft would almost certainly be sectional but I would check with Michael Main if the two built by him are similar,I would also give thought to having the bases that the lofts are to sit on be completed before moving the lofts,I live only along the duel carriageway in Dundee, think I could muster a few helpers to help erecting them on site if any help needed.....moving to Arbroath that will give your father Charlie some competition...best of luck....JBC/.. -
The old bird season is almost over for another year, again many experienced birds have failed to return home for whatever reason. One of the most difficult positions is that of race controllers whether it be single or joint ventures,I never complain about the decisions that controllers take whether to hold birds or release them, because its their call on the day and I am satisfied that whatever they decide to do they do with the birds in mind, not an easy task in a country such as ours where we can experience the four seasons in one day,I believe some of the comments made on basics this year were very unfair, and very close to libel,if you feel you can do the job better then get proposed at your A.G.M...............Good young bird racing and good returns to all..............JBC/..

Lets see what your claiming now shall we,you say that I did not keep my word as to my earlier post once again your wrong, VMS said in his post that he did not feel he had the birds for competing in the Arona one loft race, I asked him a question as to the type of bird he felt was required.....see no comment just asking a question and before he could answer you jumped in with your comment as to what kind of bird it takes to compete claiming that they had to have certain qualities....I then asked you if you felt that none of the 1900 birds missing had these qualities your answer was YES....other that the ones that made their break and were taken out by the B.O.P.this I would find very hard to believe, you also state that even I would like youngsters bred from these birds ....NO I would not so again you are wrong.....you then go on about various views you have views, your entitled to have and post them if you wish but so is every other member of pigeon basics even if you dont agree with them,I wish you well in your quest to breed the type of birds that you feel need certain qualities..atb....JBC/.. p.s.next time I am visiting relations in Cardenden Ill treat you to a pint in the Bowhill Institute.....cheers

first of all I do not have a personal arguement, but I do have a personal view on this race, secondly I did not wait untill there was a bad toss before coming out as you will see if you read my post on page 3 post no.49.....in answer to your post stating even I would want youngsters from these individuals simply because if we all had this type of pigeons we would not have any problems....WRONG again. I am of the opinion that the problem with this race is the vast crossing of water with no way the birds get proper bearings from, they are liberated from an Island surrounded by the ocean the Atlantic Ocean, one of their greatest fears is striking out across that ocean, yes some will strike out indeed probably in small groups some going the right way some groups going the wrong way with many ending up in that very same ocean, ofcourse this is only my opinion,if this race was over land I am sure returns would be far better than in previous years and it looks like this year is going to be no different.....JBC/..

Are you saying off the 1900 birds missing since the start of this years race none of them had these qualities..?
