  1. I am sure she will prove her worth at stock, what cock have you lined up for her...?
  2. This topic has run its course, what have we learned from it..NOTHING.. but what I would say is that organizations must get their act to-gether,as to weather winners will be tested or not....no maybees, secondly all members must be issued with a list of banned substances, this would have to be a lot clearer than at present, and it must be clearly stated any member found guilty of administering any of these banned substances will be put out of the sport for life.
  3. must be an S.N.F.C. committee member on hear than can explain what is the S.N.F.C. POLICY/RULES AS regarding testing ?
  4. I agree but if there is to be testing it must be done correctly and consistantly....JBC/..
  5. Thank you for the link, although I have not had time to digest the full list it appears to cover all eventualities, testing at any level whether it be club, federation,or national, they would have to adopt a procedure along these very same or similar lines,I am still not convinced that the use of banned substances is as widespread as some would have you believe.....thanks I look forward to reading the contents in its entireity.....JBC/..
  6. I was informed on here some time ago the S.H.U. issued a list of banned substances, but I cant say if they if stated the penalty for anyone found to be administering such substances.....
  7. Simple questions....simple to answer ?
  8. Costs would have to be met by your federation..... How long before you get results back...?
  9. I would still like to hear the answers to my questions regarding the samples taken by the S.N.F.C. Walter I agree but before persuing anyone make sure everything is watertight..
  10. Why do you say that? must be someone on here who has the answers...beginning to wonder
  11. I am not against testing and any fancier found to be using banned substances should be banned from the sport... now having said that if those that wish to persue testing make sure that you have everything in order and also plenty money in the bank to meet legal costs that will surely follow, one cant just be thrown out without the right to put their case, and as it stands I honestly dont believe organizations would win a legal battle,to many ifs and buts to win in a court of law should it be contested.
  12. From what we have heard on this subject can someone please answer..... 1.from all the birds tested by the S.N.F.C.did any fail the test.? 2 where were the samples tested.? 3 did the owners of these tested birds receive the results ? 4 how much did these tests cost the S.N.F.C.? ANYONE KNOW ANSWERS TO ABOVE........ ?
  13. Your correct with all you say......
  14. Interested why would they wish to test the full lot, what did that entail?.....droppings from each bird or the loft floor ?did they forward to you a copy of the results?
  15. if as you say steroids were being used 25 years ago then why did you not implement testing at that time,as for wearing blinkers,I look at situations and the best way forward, the pigeon fraternity at this time is going through a very bad time with members leaving through the rising costs involved and very few new members joining,if any fancier wishes to dabble in giving their birds What they feel can speed up their birds let them get on with it......mine will get sound seed, dry loft, care and attention when they need it,I will compete against anyone.......and I am not making a case for anyone doing because I do not know anyone doing it....DO YOU ?
  16. sorry he quoted the word fact.....if he has no proof other than his belief he should not quote fact.....
  17. I think your right.....my honest belief is organizations will continue to list banned substances but will back off when it comes to testing....they know they could not afford the cost of a battle in the high court....JBC/..
  18. Did you submit a proposal at you federation A.G.M. to this effect....if not why not..?
  19. You have quoted the word "fact".....do you have any reason to use that word or is this only your belief,if you know of any fancier is using banned substances I would suggest that you report them to your club officials.....JBC/..
  20. You asked the question,I honestly dont believe it is being done, your correct about the cost of testing, but that would be a drop in the ocean should there be a court case battle,as for getting a vet or chemist to give a ruling on substances to be banned,it would have to be an avian vet/chemist and any of them that are worth any money are probably linked with the large companies that produce all these products already on the market, and like you say there is a heleva lot of costly products out there.....JBC/..
  21. I have never said to just sit back and let the pigeon game become corrupt, but have in any post relating to the use of banned substances try to point out it is not as easy to prove, and would in all probability become very messy and very, very costly to the organization trying to prove that any banned substance was knowingly administered by the owner, you have stated that you feel that National clubs should take the lead because of the time birds are on the wing,I would say the opposit because of the length of time these birds are in the basket & transporter any drug would in all probability have worn off,I dont believe that the deliberate use off banned substances is as common as you make out, perhaps the reason some fanciers win week in and week out is covered in the following.......better birds, up early in the morning, good dry loft conditions, sound seed(not nessesarly the most expensive)fanciers that would rather spend time with their birds than drinking in the pub, there are lots of reasons why some fanciers are in front most weeks, one reason that I rate highly is the bond between the birds, the loft, and the fancier.....
  22. Whether one agrees or not with this type of race congratulations to Wulldon, super performance to-day good luck with the rest....
  23. O.K. so lets say that you test every club and federation winner, would this be by blood test or droppings test?,where would you get it tested, the U.K. Holland,South Africa?,what are banned substances ?Who will meet these costs, which will be a drop in the ocean compared to the legal cost that would almost certainly follow in the law courts. If tested after the race you would have to prove that the banned substance could not have got into the birds body after he handed them over to the marking station, this would have to include after being liberated as many birds stop off for a drink, even if it tested positive for a banned substance, you can disqualify the bird, but to ban the fancier you would have to prove that they played a part or knew that a banned substance had been administered......remember every member involved would be innocent untill proven guilty and I feel that we are a long, long way from being in a position to carry out such tests........JBC/..P.S what about the many many pigeon products that fanciers use on their birds, how many actual know their contents...?
  24. very nice,very alert looking....hope she breeds the goods....JBC/..
  25. Fantastic flying by any standard, can you say how many made the open result..?
