  1. There endeth the lesson
  2. Don't know if you would include me in "the penalty kick brigade", but we're getting a bit complicated noo. expletive remove we're racing doos no trying ti land them on the moon Del.
  3. Take exception to the cotton wool inference, the hammering our youngsters have had this season and the predicted forecast is a no-brainer for me. Sick and tired of hearing ifs, buts and maybes at the end of the day it's down to the individual, but don't go slating the controllers when the brown stuff hits the fan. Once in the basket you have no control, tucked up in the loft for next year, full control.
  4. Would that be the Shambolic One Loft Rip-off, forgot I had a bird left in it. Good luck to the Basics birds left in
  5. Sat weather for Leicester light rain from 04:00- 13:00 North wind 6-8mph. A slight change for Sunday but not good up country, season over for me. All the best to all going to race but be prepared for a long wait IMO
  6. Don't think it's the sort of radical move we can try for 1 season only. Youngsters roaded down the East side and old birds that have raced the same route for 2,3,4 years(if they survive that long) won't show benifits (if any) in a season. IMO there are other things that we can try before changing routes e.g. North road Sat and South road Sun, but who changes??????????
  7. Hear hear count me in for 6 as well, scumbags hope you get the b.......s
  8. All birds have now been sold. Sorry to dissapoint so many, but youngsters from race team will be available for season 2014.......thanks again
  9. The birds are Wildermeersch (Clive Yates) and Wildermeersch X Andre Clemens the price is £30 each
  10. Due to a change in circumstances I have in the nest a limited amount of latebreds that I am prepared to sell. My results over the last 2 years have included 17 X1st Federation and numerous National tickets including 1st Section. These birds are bred from direct winners and brothers, sisters sons and daughters of pigeons that win from 50 to 500 miles. For further details contact me by PM or Mob. No 07773363406
  11. Anyone North of Tay going to sale that is able to take birds for sale, 3 birds from Forfar if possible.
  12. Great flying Billy, all the best in the Grampian Combine race and YB National
  13. Don't think you are far from the truth now Delboy, too many ready to blame everything and everybody except themselves.
  14. If the controllers use the same reasoning as last week it's SUNDAY RACING. Hope they don't keep us wondering for too long!!!
  15. Emty your PM box Stevie
  16. Cannae see it happening Saturday, hopefully basket Sat for Sunday race or here's one no going
  17. We had a terrible race from Alnwick this week, too much of a coincidence over a few weeks, to not be a bad race point. The lads from Alnwick can't understand why anyone would liberate from there. Don't send or suffer in silence!!!! AW THE BEST
  18. What would you do if she hadn't flown so well and in a state of heavy moult? Think it's a no brainer for me.
  19. Must be the understatement of the year, but well done to the winners and hope for a lot more to turn up tomorrow!!!!!!!!!
  20. Battle hardened maybe the wrong phrase, what I mean is they need the experience of the basket and all that goes with a full season of racing as YB's. I've tried training them down the road myself to 100+ miles, giving them a couple of races then putting them bye, my best performers are those that have done the programme as YB's then had selective races as old birds. You need to work on a 5yr plan. How do you know the correct stock to breed from if you don't fully test the offspring. Many roads lead to Rome, can only comment on what has worked, or not worked for me
  21. Better with quality than quantity. From previous experience carrying forward youngsters that are not "battle hardened" is only delaying the inevitable IMHO
  22. Get the loft set up PROPERLY before you think about putting birds in it. Breed or buy a team of youngsters( rather than trying to fly broken birds) Get a system that suits YOU and stick to the routine. Be patient and work on a 5 year plan, don't be shy to ask the winning fanciers what they are doing and when. Be prepared for the"downs" i.e. BOP's and disaster races. IF ALL ELSE FAILS IT'S NO HARD TO ADAPT THE LOFT FOR BUDGIES
  23. Widnae say they need to be raced out to the bitter end, but do think that they need the "racing" experience as Y/B's. From past experiences those not raced as Y/B's fall by the wayside first. You often hear off birds scoring later in life that were not raced as Y/B's, they are very much in the minority. All the best whatever route you go down and hope you enjoy some success
  24. Arniston Angus Federation 56 miles 41 Going for 2 in a row AW THE BEST to all competing
  25. The bird I have entered is for The Basics Syndicate, otherwise I would be. I feel for Ian McKay who put a lot of time and effort into collecting and delivering the birds, to end up with this mess. Little wonder we can't get fanciers to participate. Over the years it grinds you down
