  1. Spent all day yesterday at a wedding, big thanks to partner Jimmy Curran for manning the racing loft. Timed last night at 21:32 and another at 07:32 this morning. Might have to get him up here for the YB racing.
  2. Certainly is a reason, birds from SNFC must be going to miss the bad weather at the "home" end.Sure that both sets of controllers have their reasons for liberating or not, my original post was that it was strange that no reason given. The best of luck to all racing this weekend.
  3. Difficulty understanding how both decisions can be correct, I also have birds at both racepoints. :emoticon-0138-thinking:
  4. Seems strange that no reason is given for holdover i.e. adverse weather at liberation site etc. Having problems accessing SNRPC Website, last thing I heard was simply HELDOVER............strange!!!!!?????!!!
  5. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAVIN AW THE BEST
  6. Thanks AW THE BEST
  7. FLOWN OUT GB12 K 07404 Mobile phone number on wingstamp but going on to voicemail..........any takers
  8. I had a problem with neighbours cat until I invested in 2 very cute Jack Russells. Cat's are very clever, 8 gardens in a row, 1 with 2 cute JR's, the cat never ventures near my loft. My garden loft area is fenced off with a 6ft fence, if any cat is stupid enough to venture over the fence, then nature will take it's course LOL ;)
  9. AW THE BEST Del, have a great day.
  10. Morning All, best of luck to everyone racing today and good returns. AW THE BEST
  11. There will be birds from all our club members, many of which consistently are on the results from Nationals. We have a few promises from other Federation members and prominent local fanciers. All donations will be accepted on the day or PM myself if you want to put a bird in the sale. AW THE BEST
  12. Hope to get a few tosses in this weekend, birds flying well round loft twice a day. If they get 6 tosses up to 15/20 miles, just to get the yearling cocks clued up then I will be happy. Am toying with the idea of starting to train my "lightness" YB's along with the old birds. All has not gone to plan with these birds. Started with 20, now down to 12, one with a broken leg. They are flying for fun, 2hrs+ at a time, BOP has been picking them off from early doors. Unless we win the YB National with one of them, won't be trying this system again. AW THE BEST
  13. Another one gone last night, that's seven this year. Don't know where the first six were hit but the Bassa took one of my youngsters in the park at the back of the loft. By the time I noticed it was too late for the bird. F$CK**G SEEK
  14. Forfar pigeon club breeder/buyer sale at club rooms on Saturday 18th April. Probably one of the most competitive clubs in Scotland, birds from fanciers scoring at Federation, Combine and National level. Bring your own or come along and buy, money paid out 50/50 prize money, club funds. Birds on view 12:30 sale starts 13:00
  15. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Rusty, AW THE BEST min
  16. Only 1 kit left from race birds, still some from stock birds. Thanks to all that have shown an interest and best of luck in the coming season. AW THE BEST
  17. We will have youngsters available from both race and stock birds. The kits from the race team will be £150 for 6 and stock will be £300 for 6. Reports from birds supplied last year include Federation winners. Our youngsters won multiple Federation prizes including 1st 20 in Federation in 2014. PM myself or Smiler or phone 07773363406 if interested. AW THE BEST
  18. Thanks for all comments and posts. Will try to cover all comments by saying, the birds are bred by the stock birds at a seperate location so doesn't interfere with moult of race birds. Am aware that I will have to cut and pull end flights, not so sure about tail. It is only an experiment to see how they compete with the Darkness youngsters. The main reason for trying it was it allows me to spend time with the youngsters when they are first weaned instead of having to rush to get the curtains up after coming home from work. Will keep you posted on progress and how they perform, will try to get some photos up, thanks again......AW THE BEST
  19. My feelings are the season might end too soon, hence the small amount of birds I'm trying. It has been great being able to spend time in the evening with the youngsters instead of having to rush to get the Darkness curtains closed. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, always been a trier. AW THE BEST
  20. Hi All, have weaned off 15 early bred youngsters and studied a DVD on keeping youngsters on 24hrs a day light. Have them set up to go, is there any obvious pitfalls or tips from anyone on site that I can use to assist in this experiment. Thanks in anticipation.
