  1. I have a pigeon reported in Forrest of Dean GL17 area. It is with a non-fancier, can anyone help or provide details of known fancier in that area. Thanks in anticipation. AW THE BEST
  2. Had a bird reported through the SHU, by a lad in Gateshead. Tried to contact him, but went on to voicemail. Trying to stay one step ahead, I put a post up, asking if anyone was traveling up from the area. Shortly after I got a phonecall from the lad that reported it. He worked on an oil rig 160miles north of The Shetlands. The bird had landed on the rig, and he had managed to get the bird of the rig and it was now in the care of S.S.P.C.A. in The Shetlands. A hurried PM to Ian to cancel lift from Gateshead. I then contacted Kenny Porteous, secretary of H&I, to be told that there were no fanciers left on Shetlands and after he had made a few phonecalls, we formulated a plan to get it hopefully on a boat to The Orkneys or preferably Aberdeen, then deal with it from there. Received phonecall today from S.S.P.C.A. to say my bird was in Drumoak, Banchory. A wee trip up to Banchory and "The Shetlander" is now safely tucked up in the loft in Forfar, pretty flown out, but there to fight another day. Thanks to all concerned, makes you wonder how they can travel so far North and miss out his own loft in Forfar. Guesstimating 600+ miles, doesn't answer the question of where the missing birds have gone, but lets you see they could end up in the strangest places. AW THE BEST
  3. A big THANK YOU to John Thomson (jont) who safely delivered my bird back home to Forfar. Good to see there are still some good guys left in the sport. After all the ups and downs, differing opinions and views we are finally off and running. Still struggling to work out the decision making logic and process, but hey-ho and away we go. Hope for birds returning in good time and order. AW THE BEST :emoticon-0138-thinking:

I said on Thursday at marking, if birds were not up Saturday then it looked like Tuesday would be the next best day for a race. Personally I think they missed the boat not getting them up on Saturday. Is it the same forecast they are trusting to be correct tomorrow, that is being blamed by some parties to have been wrong since Saturday? What a tangled web we weave eh Del? Cynical view.... be your own controller and keep them at home if forecast not good, or dinnae moan Whatever day they are up I wish you all the best and hope you are 2nd LOL

Surely the sooner they move them the better, if that is what they are going to do of course. What will change between now and 16:30?? This is not a go at SNFC, what has happened is history. Some blame weather men, some blame SNFC. Let's not apportion blame and move on. Hopefully posted on website before Facebook or Basics. LOL :emoticon-0179-headbang:

To get a race when Del? They missed the boat yesterday, so any kind of reasoned logical tactics are gone, anything could happen now.
  20. Two txts this morning Del 1@ 07:47 from South Midlands saying rain now of and beautiful sunshine' Other 1@ 11:00 from fancier heading back up road from Birmingham. Report was showery around Birmingham, broken cloud and sunny @ Lancaster. No sure how it is through in the Wild West. but it's a cool but fine evening here in the East Can't change what's happened today, only hope for as good or better weather tomorrow.AW THE BEST
  21. What is your distance/velocity please. Sounds like a very steady race.
  22. Interesting to note, liberations from Maidstone, Windrush and Stafford yet SNFC heldover. Time will tell if correct decision was made. They will be flying into rain at some point tomorrow and another day in the basket. This is not a criticism of race controllers, would like constructive dialogue on others thoughts.AW THE BEST
