Of course you a re correct but it's not often that you have 2 options in this game. They have just had a small feed followed by a drink then into the basket.

I have about 15 pigeons for this weekend and have not decided whether to divide them between both clubs. Travel between 2 marking centres through Glasgow at peak times is a problem. The forecast westerly wind. Also looks like being a deciding factor.
  7. Thank you for your vote of no confidence Peter. That's your prerogative. I can assure you that most winners come from crosses that is a proven fact. Only a strain snob would fail to acknowledge this. Perhaps your years with CJ Williams have clouded your judgement similarly to the time when you misled people when you confused acidic with alkaline. I apologise for my tardy response.
  8. While I agree with this it's also possible to change our ways hitting them with a double whammy in the same year.
  9. Done good luck Bary.
  10. There is no doubt that we need to change the way we do things but that must be coordinated at national level.
  11. Your perception is exactly the same as the impression which many members of the public have of pigeon fanciers. I picked up a pigeon from a lady who was concerned that the owner might kill it for being too slow. Obviously I reassured her. On a personal note I am always pleased when any of mine return.
  12. Personally I will consider my weekend options and choose whatever suits my priorities. Personally all my uninsured birds were at last weeks race many having their first race of the season so I will tread warily this weekend even if that means training lone.
  13. Do you know whet the logic is behind that decision. By the way congratulations for last Saturday's performance.
  14. Good morning to you as well!
  15. Spot on but I feel we should have a full week's campaign just to make sure the job is done properly. We need to remember that they will have a supply of kills around the nest cashed for harder times. I have lost 10 on 2 tosses from areas which I have always considered as "safe liberation sites"
  16. Safely tucked up in bed and thanks for reporting the stray.
  17. are you in now and I will nip up
  18. 2611 is my ring number. let me know when you are available and I will come and collect it. That seems a bit energetic for one of mine flying all of 8 miles.
  19. It looks as though 2 Ayrshire birds could be from the same loft.
  20. If you use your other birds as feeders that is just as good as having 4 pairs of stock.
  21. Last week down this week on a high. That's doo racing for you. Very well done.
  22. Great post and summarises the situation. We only need to train a few select birds and confine our racers for a week in August to help return the balance of nature.
  23. I have tossed from Livingston for several years now coming straight along the M8 . I did on SUnday with no problem and did again yesterday releasing about 11:30 and have 3 missing and 2 without tails.
  24. Get well soon John
  25. Doing your bit again---well done Eben.
