tumley lofts , in the past had jan aardens ,,leen boers,, gave them to other members,, beautiful birds in top condition,, both breeds scored
-
if the birds have been separated for a while, then in good breeding condition, they often" take" right away,, if they dont, its well worth keeping an eye on the cock bird, as he can and will roughen up the hen , often to a very bad degree, an upside down galley pot, or a half brick can save this, as the hen can hop on to this and get some protection, but i find there are certain birds take to other birds that they in fact" fancy" ,, mating birds can be quite difficult , especially with yearlings, i find it better to let each pair out their box [with the other boxes closed , also a pair at a time outside,,,,, by spending time with them, in getting them used to their boxes, they will hopefully settle ,, good luck

wee gaz [12 years old] was given free birds from nagid and big jim 45 both on the forum,,, this young lad races his own birds at his own house, knows every ring number etc ,has them very clean, very tame, and with these birds won the under 18 snfc trophie,,, ,same happened with young keiran, [but with different members] keiran also raced fantastic and won trophies as well,,,, its great to see members like this encouraging these young lads
-
excactly,, many doses on many medications, vits, etc are set as a particular dose,,, in my opinion fanciers should be very careful of this,, theyll drink more than double of water when feeding youngsters, moulting, or in very hot weather, and drink much less in winter
-
sad when it comes to this,!!! although a very difficult problem, and can only get worse,,although this can make your blood boil members must be careful what they post, due to the implications to p,b,,, but all members in the u k, in my opinion should be pulling from the same rope and in the hope that something positive can be done, on this drastic problem, which is getting worse each year
-
sorry to here this of mark rennie,, i remember seeing his birds many years ago,, will never forget these lovely dordin mealies he had, they were really the most beautiful birds

i give ordinary "tapolene ;D" i,e, water,, often a little garlic added,, but like to make sure the water is kept clean,,,,, i find the above post relavent , the quality of water can change in different places,, soft water here in scotland,, hard water in london,,, we are often told to drink bottled water if going abroad??,,,, i believe they should have the water their used to, in their racing transporter
-
really sorry to here of this,, lets hope the police can deal with this,in a proper and just manner, with a favourable outcome for jimmy [i,e the offenders being caught and punished, and hopefully jimmy getting his birds back]
-
in my opinion , as their eyes are at the side of their head, they must see more all around than we do,, one thing that always amazed me was ,, put a three week old y/bird on the board or loft,, even at that age it knows a hawk is a hawk,, itll cock its eye to the side ,,then vamoose into the loft
-
wonder how much the stands made on all the so-called speed supplements at blackpool ;D ;D ;D i worked on the vydex stand for a few years,, the last year i did it , they drew in £13,000 over the weekend,,,, but i didnt see many nat winners buying much,,, food for thought :) ,, my thoughts, theve got us,,, "phsycologicaly buying dreams ;D ;D ;D", good luck to all

im fine dave hope things well with you mono block is the brick sized blocks they use for driveways etc, no cement used so theres a slight drainage, course you can slope them so that any water runs out,, i wash with jeyes fluid, then hose out,, i feel it also helps the surrounding areas about the loft,,,, most folks keep their lofts clean , but forget about the outside areas,, really a haven for worms cocci etc,, ,,

;D ;D ;D maybe john mucurroch ;D ;D i believe you can tell by a birds eye , its health,, it actually changes when in super condition

often a very hit and miss thing ,,breeding,,, pairing the best to the best seems the most logical way, but doesnt always produce winners,, i have a [this year] 12 year old hen , never raced, bred winners quite regularly with different cocks 3 prize winners last year at 11 years old ,, [the hen never reared them], although i would never go for aged stock birds, this bird seems to be an" exception to the rule" im now wondering if she will fill her eggs this year her sire is sir colin 2cnd nat. nantes when paired to a daughter of angus nelsons 3 nat. nantes
