  6. would agree with o y here ,, but for the 100pc recovery?,, i would add maybe 100 p.c. physical recovery, but not 100 pc mental recovery,,, having noted this on the past , if a champion racing pigeon,,,,,it never seems to be the same again.
  7. had this b4,, many times, i have found the bird better left locked in its own box with feed and water,, the ones that do survive are usually very wary of venturing out for some time,,
  8. totally amazing,, brought a tear to my eye,,,, true greatness

  21. in my opinion ray, i would tend to feed a good protein mix untill the moult is completely finished to ensure a perfect moult,, then as the nights are darker , the birds exercise less , they tend to put on fat,, i often find barley at this time is a good weight leveler,, but b4 mating would give them a mix for a week or so, again when they are sitting,,they have less exercise so again a lighter diet, but once feeding yb,s , as much protein mix as they will eat, usualy whilst feeding big youngsters, they will eat less maize, i put a couple of spoon fulls baby milk in their water at this time , ,,once yb,s have been separated,, then on to a racing mix that will suit you, i,e depending on the distances you want to go for,, good luck
  22. very interesting thread jeams, and great pics,,, a big welcome to pigeon basics
