who cares. how did the arabs get on?
-
if you want to sort them out send everything. if you want to score you have to send your best. a good doo is a good doo whether they go to the ybn or not makes no difference as old birds jmo
-
you dont half talk rubbish. there is no sine die that went out years ago. its quite simple if you dont resign by agm and then dont pay fees you will be debt suspended same as any other club. suspension wont take effect until approved by shu which would be at october meeting so who is stopping anyone from racing. once fees are paid suspension is lifted
-
of course its legal or it wouldnt be in the book. i presume the reason is because if it wasnt there then members would not bother paying fees until the last minute then they would be moaning because they hadnt received their entry forms etc
-
howdens are good if theres one near you
-
i would just ignore them. probably just some "jobsworth" with a chip on his shoulder. if they start on pigeon racing then what about horse racing, show jumping, greyhound racing, game shooting, deer stalking, circus animals etc the list is endless. theres always someone trying to spoil the enjoymenmt of others.
-
they should be ok if its a good race but if the weather forecast is not good i woudnt send them all. why dont you send half to each race
-
off topic but who won
-
the problem, is once you go south of the forth you encounter other feds going in different directions and once dragged off line many seem unable to get back on course. dont know why unless they are no good in the first place
-
The SHU cant order feds where to race from and when to liberate because the MEMBERS wont get off their a--es and put the necessary rules in place. Anyway you cant get 2 neighbouring feds to liberate together so the chances off cooperation between feds from different sides of the country is zilch. I dont know what caused the disasters on saturday but i would say it was not any single factor. BOP is an easy option. Yes they are there and they nail birds every week. But if that was the sole cause why do we not get disasters every week and why did the feds who went on sunday get 99% returns were the peregrines having a day off because they got enough to eat on saturday. the weather was a factor no doubt there have been reports of rain and birds arriving home soaking. I believe Angus Fed held over on saturday because of overcast conditions and rain at the race point and over the forth. Remember its inexperienced young birds we are dealing with. Other factors could be lack of training (there is a "fancier" earlier saying his birds had there FIRST toss last Tuesday and went to 105 miles on saturday)you can come to your own conclusion on why he has lost most of his team. Also the health of young birds. There is YBS in every area whether you care to admit it or not
-
also Angus fed controller & convoyer who held over yesterday and have had a good race today
-
Angus Fed held over at Arniston yesterday. Still no liberation
-
what would they clash with that would drag 7000 doos off line? think you will find all are struggling today. no enough sunshine i`m afraid and north in the wind
-
if only treating as a preventative then no need to stop but i got to ask if you are not racing and there is nothing wrong with the birds why do you need to treat.
-
looks like there will be some clashing today good luck all

cant agree with duplication at the gold cup. you could then have a situation where the gold cup winner is beaten by a federation bird not entered in the national. if fanciers want to fly reims or wherever they should join the national. clermont is different as most feds used to have their own channel race but nowadays it is not economically possible
-
got to agree that ypres would be a poor substitute for clermont being less than 40 miles further than eastbourne to many members. if it was a choice between 460 and 540 i know what i would prefer. if members want ypres i think it should be included at the expense of one or both inland races. as was suggested earlier a race from eastbourne for the east side of the country would be a good idea. bring back the east of scotland amal.

well done to the secretary for getting the result on the website so quickly and well done to the boys north of the tay in section c 23 out of 39 section prizes.
-
this seems to be the norm now. some with great returns and others struggling. and the worst thing is very few seem to be working back this year
-
will that be 7 snfc wins for JH
-
he takes his bike
-
where would you suggest would be central. about 75% of members wouldnt go if it was in their own living room
-
the numbers have dropped for various reasons. 1. The membership has dropped steadily 2. There are too many national races and the prestige of winning a national is no longer the same 3. there are more so called sprint/middle distance birds around and therefore the long distance element has gradually been bred out of the birds 4. it may be me but the weather seems much more unpredictable now 5. Raptors Any more?? it seems strange when the number of fanciers is dropping that ever more races are added. it used to be that many feds had there own channel race separate from the national which gave you 5 channel races in the 70s and 80s. the inland races are obviously money makers but if it was to increase entries in the gold cup by dropping one or both i would not mind paying an increased fee and i dont just mean a £2 increase. something like £40 is not unreasonable or even £50 and 2 free entries to the gold cup. if you get 2 free members may send another 2 as well

i think you will find most feds on the east side were racing the east route before the snfc. the west feds changed later to try to avoid the bop. if rennes was still available i dont think the gold cup would have been from anywhere else. it went to messac in 2000 cos rennes was no longer available then liege in 2001 cos of f & m. that race showed how spread the leading positions could be and is possibly the reason we are where we are today.
