you`ve got to be joking. john hughes got out of falkirk before they got relegated and hibs were goin the same way. their fans couldnt see the back of him quick enough. collins is too far up his own a--e. and as for wee jimmy why has he not been offered a job since he left killie. if i was levein i would walk away from some of the numpties who interview them as well. he cant help it if his defenders are crap. if mcmanus was any good he wouldnae be playing for middlesborough

i find the fanciers who say averages mean nothing are the ones who cannae win them. points may define the best fancier but you could have a top sprinter who wins the first six races and enough points to win the trophy then cannae time in after 300 miles.
-
the more you say the more ridiculous you sound. IB obvioiusly understands what i am saying and has explained to you in simple terms so i will leave it at that

wrong again!!! where did i rubbish the other national. all i said was to point out that if you impose a birdage limit there is an alternative inland national. i dont care about the politics of it unlike you i just want to race my doos
-
who said anything about lanarkshire not me anyway
-
remember if you limit birds there is an alternative inland national and it would not increase the channel birdage to any great extent so all you would be doing is cutting your income and lining the pockets of the alternative organisation
-
what has changed your mind? i have never been convinced of the need for "state of the art" transport as long as the ventilation and watering systems are ok. the doos dont care what they are in as long as they are comfortable. i am not in favour of metal or plastic crates and prefer wicker baskets

The national does not dictate a fed programme but it will influence it if enough members want to compete in the nationals. For instance hardly any Scottish feds race on Gold Cup weekend. For years most feds went to the south coast the week before the Gold Cup. The SNFC now race from Eastbourne that weekend. Who is influencing who?
-
dont think it does them any harm for the future and gives them a bit of extra experience but just because they fly the yb national doesnt mean they are going to win as old birds. by the same token if a yb doesnt go to the national it is not disdvantaged in any way as an old bird. a lot of fanciers only give some ybs 2 or 3 races
-
If the national members vote for it I would no doubt give it a go but you and I both know that will never happen. Like I said before why dont Lanarkshire try it first. Your members complain about being cleaned out every year so really you have nothing to lose. I wont hold my breath.
-
returns over 80% including one hawked. what about you. i suggested on another thread that lanarkshire try racing from ireland first to see if it cuts your losses. good to see you are pushing hard for it
-
aye great performance its hard enough for the elgin lads in fed racing never mind the national

If your own fed wont go west there is no chance of the national going west although I dont know what you would call west as Stafford is not much west of Leicester. I think you have to try the west route with your fed to get the birds on their right line. You will lose birds to BOP but we all lose them on the east anyway. Leicester is right in the middle of the country so should be as fair as you can get for everyone. The wind and weather you cant control. I dont know the answer but you asked for an honest opinion and thats mine
-
Of course I understand the terrain I`ve been in doos probably longer than you. I certainly look older. Apart from the BOP what is different from 30 years ago. The Pennines were always there. The race routes are different but that is the choice of individual federations. The race point for the YB national has been changed more times than I can remember. Leicester is right in the centre of the country so why do the west and Solway doos not come up the west side. BOP you may say I could show you a dozen doos which returned to me injured by BOP this year.
-
Do as you say and the south guys will only be flying just over 100 miles which would be a joke for a national race. I think the west lads are on a hiding before the start because of their defeatist attitude i e " we`ve nae chance" As others have said I think your yb programme is not geared to the national in that you dont get enough distance before the race. as for going east why do yous all train east to west then moan cos your birds dog leg. also if they were timing in edinburgh at 1.20 on Sunday why does it take 1.5 - 2 hours for birds to get 40 miles west.

on lib line times i would say 1st 3 are D Owen, T Keenan, Walker & Wilson
