well done to all from north of the tay in section c flying over 400 miles. 69 out of 104 section positions including the first nine
-
you can pool b without pooling a. dont see anything wrong with 25th
-
it depends where you live. peterhead do not get a good distance from reims etc because it is so far east. great for the west guys no excuses this weekend!!!
-
it looks as though there could be less than 1000 birds for the gold cup which is tragic. there needs to be a radical rethink by the snfc members and committee. i dont know the answer but i am beginning to think they will have to drop an inland race and i also think that ypres next week is taking birds away from the gold cup as some think it an easier race and the birds may go back to clermont. my suggestion would be Eastbourne (or Maidstone) following week Reims (or Alencon) two weeks then Clermont (or Falaise)two weeks then Bourges (or any 600 mile plus race they can get)

who is to say what is the best available? just because they are new and have shiny aluminium crates doesnt mean they are "better" personally i am not keen on the aluminium crates and prefer the wicker basket but whether they are "better" i dont know and i would defy anyone to say what is. what like a race did the snrpc have from Reims and almond valley from maidstone?

i would love a new state of the art transporter and would be prepared to pay additional subs to raise funds but unfortunately the majority of members wont support it. however a new transporter wouldnt have made any difference to the strength of the wind at eastbourne and not even you on the committee would have changed that. are you seriously suggesting that the management committee decide prior to a race whether the birds are marked on a specific day. no controller worth his salt would take the job under these conditions
-
snfc wouldnt last 5 minutes with you on the committee. when the birds went on thursday we knew it was going to be a north wind but did not expect a holdover. however due to the strength of the wind on the south coast the controllers and convoyers have judged that it is in the best interests of the pigeons to wait until conditions are as favourable as possible unlike feds who liberated on friday and saturday with returns varying from 5% to 25% on the day from less than 400 miles. I know who I have most confidence in

are there any more home, only about 25 on website
-
well done to all the game doos home. hope you get a lot more tommorrow. hope all you national boys who complained at a holdover take note. up at 5.30 for 340 miles and very few home on the day. doo racing is not just about the winners because without the rest there are no winners
-
wait and see what the returns are like tonight. i estimate 25% at best. hope i am wrong. i would have liked a race as much as anyone but you got to be realistic & if the first doos are only doing 30mph then it is not a good race
-
because they will probably be proved correct. you lot would be the first to moan if they had gone up and it was a disaster
-
lot of brave guys out there. the strength of the wind here it would be bordering on cruelty to let pigeons up to fly 400 miles and as i said in a previous post the wind on the coast is usually worse. wait and see how the feds who are racing today get on before moaning
-
get this crap off here can we get back to the subject please. wind is still strong tomorrow
-
who would be a race controller!! dont think some of you realise what the wind can be like at the coast and forecast was for cloud at race point early morning. i would think the wind would have been lighter at maidstone when nw/central liberated. what speeds did almond valley do yesterday?
-
nothing wrong with a light north wind if its a good day and the sun is out when they go up
-
lot of clashing today i guess
-
Dundee & Angus 6.30 am at Witton Castle
-
Even if you are first youll be second last, canny win
-
definitely not all down to bop otherwise why does it not happen every week. i guess its the weather conditions i.e thundery atmosphere, heat and no wind which for some reason pigeons dont like yet it doesnt affect all of them. yes there are thousands of birds missing and some good ones at that by what i hear. will certainly affect the entry for the channel races i would think

sorry to hear this sad news. a great character and worker for the sport

on website now

I`m not being "smart" I was only giving my opinion which i thought this site was for. The best man ever on the lib line was the late John Gray and i once congratulated him on it and he told me it was a thankless job and the criticism he got if he was late with an update was out of order. Joe Murphy was good as well. i will not be getting of my *expletive removed* to do it although if i had the time that some fanciers have i would give it a go.unfortunately i work full time sometimes on race days and i already have enough things to do with pigeon related tasks for club, fed etc so please do not insult me again
-
the problem with the website is that nobody will take on the responsibility of running it. i see the sec is doing libline this year and he can only do so much. certainly better than last year which was a complete shambles. the other problem is the majority of members now dont phone their time in anyway so you dont get a true picture of whats going on. why dont some of you moaners offer to sit by the phone for six hours and update the site during a race.

must be about half the convoy awol. where have they gone?
