looks like a good programme to me. something for everyone. why cut out races just cos some dont have enough doos. the bovingdon doos could go to reims. eastbourne to bourges or clermont and the ypres birds back to clermont. all depends on good racing tho. good luck to all

walter can you explain why there were around 30 birds from Dundee & Angus in the first 100 open from Eastbourne last year yet only one in the north section on the day flying only about 30 miles further. i think you are disrespectful to guys who score regularly at inland nationals. in scotland a national is a national regardless of the distance. how many times have you been in the first 100 open in the last ten years

the shu rings are the same as last year. next year they will be the new type with the slot for the ets chip to be inserted. as far as i am aware they will have a metal inner ring. dont have a clue about belgian rings

date seems fine to me. gives you an extra week to get distance before the national. one reason the dundee and angus boys do well at the yb race is because they are at ripon and wakefield the two weeks before the national. none of this jumping 150 mile nonsense. a week earlier only gives you 15 minutes extra daylight

there are very few birds which will win for a bad fancier. bad fanciers tend to win races when the weather is dodgy such as rain en route holding up the leading birds etc. in sprint races tho there is nearly always birds belonging to the top fliers which get through first regardless of the conditions. to answer the question i would agree 50/50 for distance racing but for sprint maybe 60/40 because a good fancier can motivate average birds to win
