  15. if she was specially for this race why have her due to lay the day b4 marking. if she has laid tonite she will lay 2nd egg on thursday so will have to stop on way home unless liberated early. i never send hens unless they have laid 2nd egg 2 days b4 marking. keep her at home
  16. 180 miles to where? it`ll be a training toss for solway. dont know what caused saturdays disaster but dont think it was clashing. who did they clash with and what would turn a convoy of 5000.
  17. why do you think there are birds being reported in yorkshire not far from wetherby and also in cumbria. what is stopping them homing on their own?
  18. ideal for old birds after 200 miles. difficult for yb as we are too spread out. north of scotland not been past perth yet. and as you say feds will never agree on programmes
  19. walter i was told that the reason was there were birds in the central belt flying 600 miles not getting on result because of 1 in 10 rule and the north section was won about a day later. i agree that andrezel is too short for the longest race. you should go on committee. they are always looking for new blood
  20. i was answering lithgilad who got all his birds home. however got to say clashing is not unusual as it happens every year once you are past 100 miles cos the english feds are above us. as i said in my post until there is a RADICAL change in attitude it will always happen. what i mean is someone is going to have to agree not to liberate until afternoon or wait until sunday i.e north road one week south road the next but it will never happen cos doo men are too stubborn and most cant see the wood for the trees. somehow dont think the lanarkshire disaster was all down to clashing as too many are missing. it seems some are being reported on the north west coast which suggests they were trying to follow a line west of the pennines but previous to that they had been on a slightly different route (hexham) and then given a 60 mile jump. i suggested last night the jump may be part of the problem but got shot down so what do i know
  21. salt & vinegar are best
  22. dont want to appear negative but at the moment most feds are in the bhw along with contact numbers. how many controllers contact feds going in opposite direction before liberating. also there appears now to be a mad rush (by some) to get the birds up as early as possible. if there are birds going in opposite directions there should be adequate time given for other feds to pass over before liberating. this 15 mins between libs is a joke as well and they always clear the racepoint within 2 minutes. utter crap! no reason why aberdeen, dundee, angus, fife and kingdom could not have gone up together from witton castle. and dont give me crap about birds going past they are homing pigeons. bring back the amalgamation
  23. does the next one have overfly on you? why not ask the secretary to explain
  24. dont think anything unusual happened. if you were late the problem could be yourself. at least you got them all home many others didnt. i believe aberdeen are doing 1400s and angus/dundee 1200s. dont think the libs were too close together except for fife and kingdom but we wont go down that road. at this stage you will always get an element of clashing and there is no way to avoid it without a radical change in attitude which wont happen in the forseeable future jmo
  25. dont think you can blame controller today. do you think a jump from hexham into wetherby is too much for young birds
