Surprised by the poor entry especially sect B which used to be a hot bed of channel fliers. Many feds used to have a separate channel race as well as the national. No chance of that now. I think Ypres has affected the entry for this race asa well as the gold cup

Part of the problem with the first inland national is allowing duplication so some feds are putting it in their programme thus "forcing" fed members to send if thney want to be in club/fed averages. As there is no alternative fed race they send their gold cup doos because at 3 weeks before the main event that is the final prep race for many. Scrap duplication at the first race and with an alternative fed race it may help the gold cup entry.

It will not bring down Scottish football because the small clubs which live within their means will carry on as before its the clubs who are in the SPL but in reality shouldnt be and who rely on the income from Celtic, Rangers and TV money to survive. I predict there will be at least one possibly two current SPL clubs in administration or even liquidation within the next two years

I agree there should be some way of accomodating disasters like this race. How unlucky if someone had got a doo doing 399.99 velocity and it doesnt make the result. And homers they may be but they did get home. Plenty dont!

Who knows what will happen now. I would think there will be a few SPL chairmen sh---ng themselves tonight. i wonder how many of them will go into administration or liquidation over the next season or two but at least a precedent has been set so we dont have to go through all this uncertainty again. Due to the standard of player that Rangers will be able to "attract" in div 3 it could take a few years to get back to the "riches" of the SPL. I can imagine Celtic Park being half empty for half the season once the SPL has been won by November. On the bright side our UEFA coefficient will rise when Motherwell win the champions league. Doesnt state at clock checking time it could surely be arranged for an official to meet and verify bird. Still think he should be allowed to remove ets ring and time it in. If your manual clock fails you can get it opened and time into another member or write rubber details on a slip of paper and time into another member as back up

If the birds were marked and he was given a print out the clock must have gone wrong since then. Could it be battery failure? Would he not be allowed to remove the ets ring and put it in an ordinary clock then it could be verified(on second thoughts probably not in Lanarkshire)

Another outstanding performance from one of Scotlands top fanciers

Just had a look at the NFC Tarbes provisional result on the website. The race is still on going as the birds were liberated yesterday at 13.45 (imagine the outcry if that happened with the SNFC). Some amazing performances with provisional 3rd Open in Lancaster at 716 miles (in mainly westerly winds) flying almost 200 miles further than the shortest fliers. the furthest flier I have noticed is at 777 miles into Northallerton. Thats what you call long distance racing
