Ets Timing & Location Of Pads / Sensors At Loft
JohnQuinn replied to Big Davie's topic in Notice Board
The thread isnae about what you's Think counts, nothing to do with opinions. That's what stinks about this and other sports, eg.. If a referee blows for a penalty its aw wanafek whit the players think, it's a penalty end of. If I ever have to verify pigeons again and the pad isnae inside the loft I will recommend disqualification of fancier and bird, then the fancier can come in front of the committee and explain why he should be exempt fae following the rules like everybody else does. Rules are Rules no opinions. -
Ets Timing & Location Of Pads / Sensors At Loft
JohnQuinn replied to Big Davie's topic in Notice Board
The rule is NOT open to interpretation. The pad Must be inside the loft and that's it. No mention of confined, captured or otherwise and if the rule does Not specifically say confined (captured would not be a term used) then the bird is free to come and go from its loft after timing in. Like I said I was on the rules committee when the rule was written and as long as the pad is beyond the threshold you have nothing to fear from being visited by officials, if it's no properly situated ye can scream court aw ye like, rules apply to everything in life and if ye don't follow them then you take the consequences of your OWN actions and nae court will support ye in yer arguement. -

Ye were sayin John ?? -
Aye a heard ye had made changes but didnae know ye parted way yer old birds. That Overfly is a killer, hasn't cost me anything but Higgy suffered a couple ay times way it. Ave made some big changes tae this year way getting sprint Doos in so the dreaded overfly will no doubt bite me in the *expletive removed* tae lol
-
Cheers Tam, no be long tae yer on top again anyway.
-
A widnae knock yer results Tam, in fact anybody asking me about good distance Doos yours is wan ay the names a tell them tae see about distance stock. We all go through stages when results tail aff for a variety of reasons, and ave said tae ye Ma self ye gave away your Best bred birds tae all and sundry for sales and the likes and that cost ye in results. A couple a right good wans a season is aw we can expect or hope for but ye were givin yer best away for charities and club/fed fund raisers. I spoke about Lindsay & Henderson because of the length of time they have been winning and the Top positions they get year on year, whether club champs or no, And Ian Lindsay is a very very good friend of mine and I like tae see him getting a mention in the papers and a don't see anything wrong way that. Am sure when A get ma write up Ian will be just as pleased for me !!!! Lmao

l Lindsay & Henderson are 12 times Newmains champions, Eadie 8 times and you 4 and that was ages ago noo so L& H are worthy of a write up fae Tom especially when he's still winning SNFC Section.

I was on the SHU rules committee when ETS was discussed and am happy that I follow the stipulated rules. At the time secretaries were being abused by members not allowing them to see where the pad is sited and it was decided then that "policing" it would be well nigh impossible so it was left to fanciers Honesty, and mine cannot be questioned as I follow rules to the letter. ETS does have an advantage over manual clocks but that is fanciers choice. -

Mine is just over the threshold Davie, imo the doo disnae need to be captured or confined it just has to enter the loft. Ma lot often enter then come back out again and I don't see how that could be an issue. -
Ma hens just gave me 55 mins in the p**sin rain, nae flag or baw. I feed what a think is right without measuring but can only be about an ounce per bird just now. Al no be training Doos before the first race, it's nae mare than a toss anyway fae Kelso, how the F we ended up back there is beyond me. :emoticon-0179-headbang:

Keep them on the hungry side and they'll be keener.

Doos tae fly 16hrs on the day are few and far between everywhere, always have been. Late great Andrew Deans pointed that oot tae me years ago and nothing has changed since.

Bad reception where a was last night Tam. Naw she's a Moleveld X Bruggerman. Moleveld Ck was one Sapper got direct and I bought when he packed in and the Bruggerman hen was a gift fae Davie Jamieson. She's tiny but all ye feel is muscle when ye handle her. Am sure Davie will put ye right if he reads this Tam, he's the man winning way them
