No it doesn't really but it does mean they are both the same size in the nest. Sometimes keen parents will sit the first egg and when they do the yb's will hatch on different days, giving the first egg laid an advantage over the other due to size. It CAN make a difference but not necessarily so.

In the early races i would race them celibate or roudabout then about half way through the program pair them up for the second half, which are usually the longest races, jmo

I only got 2 of mine away, left one of the hens in the loft. As per usual i am optimistic about my chances of a decent time, but history has taught me not to rely on one!! She could lay anytime as you cannot be certain when they took on with each other, the Ck may well have been treading her for days before you seen them mating. Have a look in the nest every night about 7pm, she will lay her 1st egg around 5.30/6pm, she will then lay her 2nd around 1.30/2pm 2 days later. In order for both eggs to hatch together you should remove the first one and put a "wally" egg in until the 2nd egg is laid, then put the 1st one back in with the new 2nd one. Exciting times for you in the loft, i hope you watch and learn a little about the development of pigeons, the nest is where it all begins.

As far as i know the list of banned substances is Non Exhaustive, meaning that if a bird was tested and the fancier had given it a performance enhancing substance that wasn't on the list, the fancier would still face dire consequences for it. With the development of new drugs being an ongoing trade for those who would cheat their competitors, so the rules must mirror this in order to keep up to speed with new developments in illegal drugs, so although there is a list sent out as Derek stated, it is well nigh impossible to list Every substance on the market at any given time. The message is this, give them nothing and you won't have ANY substances in them to be concerned about

I imagine you would only be able to use small seeds in them or wheat/barley as mentioned already, i would make a wooden hopper that could take any food before using a drinker. jmo
