Those who don't have a bird for the sale have in the main donated a 2011 yb, the best things in life are worth waiting for
  7. Sent 9 to Consett with Lanarkshire, looks like the convoy will be around 2,600 for the fed this week, best of luck to everyone hope the returns are excellent.
  8. A few more Tosses could mean a few more Losses George, so be prepared for the worst mate as its usually just over the next hill!!
  9. There was a link on here the other day describing pigeons that are used to Catch Percy, apparently they can make the falcon chase them into a loft and the door is shut behind the falcon. Sorry i canny remember which thread it was on or the name of the birds, the afforementioned Orientals ring a bell though.
  10. I have to agree with the wee man, if he disnae bid Merrysilver is off with it as he has the top bid. It was time up in a few seconds so Wee Billy had to bid for it to be in time, with Wullie no posting 'til 8.49pm it looks like ye wirnae watchin the baw big man, so as the only SVP in the house i declare all in order and friendships resume as normal
  11. Should be lifted for assault after that
  12. I was qoted £100 per year about 18 YEARS ago, he would need to be your favourite uncle to let you the ground for £50. When i sat and thought about the practicality of having no Water or Electricty and you might have to humph bags of feeding across a wet field in January, i decided against it!! There is always the security side of it too, anybody could be sniffing around in the middle of the night, if i were you i would consider Everything before you enter into any agreement with the farmer
  13. I hope the rest start coming for you George, night training can be very dodgy, if Percy hits them they only have 3/4 hours to work back instead of 9/10 hours from a morning toss, i know your hands are tied a bit for the mornings with your work George so you only have time at night to go, so best of luck with getting them back
  14. Consett 104mls with Lanarkshire Fed. Canny make ma mind up about this week, its either gonna be 4/6 or 20/22, its my Da's memorial trophy that is up for grabs in the Fed this week but i just haven't got the doos ready to top the fed with in young bird racing so i will sleep on my entries and make my mind up tomorrow. I'm inclined to send the YB National candidates and leave the rest until next year.
  15. I would contact the council to see if you can get it on their scheme, ridiculously cheap if you can Frank
  16. Aye money certainly goes to money well done Andy, nice wee lift
  17. Just feed them any mix you like George, they will go through the moult well on any decent breeding mix. I usually add some Linseed for its oily properties, and i give them Red Band every day to bring them in. They win in the show pen so i guess its working ok for me.
  18. Sorry Danny but i couldn't possibly support a return to Kelso, my birds ALL go to the first 5 races as it is, coming back 20mls will imo, not help the doos one little bit as far as getting them ready for the last 6 races is concerned. We raced our first race from Carlisle in 1981, 82mls to me, we should be starting at 100mls these days and its an insult to the doos thinking this is too far to start off with. The Fife boys got slaughtered from Kelso the week we were at Consett, proving the distance of the race has NO bearing on the outcome of it. To change the program when we don't even KNOW whats the cause of bad races, is crazy and will only add to the confusion WHEN we the next bad race arrives. If we concentrated on finding out exactly what was causing it, we would be able to take steps to prevent it whether it be changing a race program or whatever else the evidence tells us to do, but change for change sake is only gonna hold us back further. 19. Hi Baz, do you think the Ayrshire Feds would take trainers from Lanarkshire to their Ripon race, as you are correct that we have a weeks break between our last race and the National?
  20. Never heard a word about this either, though i wouldn't object to it.
  21. Was a bit strange up hear yesterday for some anyway, i only had 9/12 at 1pm today yet loads of fanciers are very near 100% returns. The early doos came before or around 10.45am then there was about a half hour spell until the main groups started going over me, stranger still was i never got a pigeon from 11.11 to 12.37 then i got 4 within 30mins. I believe the wind has affected them in some way but canny workout the erratic returns.
  22. Especially with a wind like yesterday
  23. Is someone meeting with the driver or will they be liberated?
  24. That is the best answer to ANY query i have read since i joined the site. All you men who randomly treat birds should pay heed to the message in this post, FIND THE CAUSE, don't just keep spending time and money to cure something that can be prevented if you open your eyes!!! WELL DONE IB.
