  12. I don't know where all the doos would come from to have another channel Open race. Why would a member of the SNFC/SNRPC use pigeons for an Open race when they need them for National Racing?? Canny see it working from where i am. jmo
  13. In my opinion, in order to get a proper perspective on the issues that divide fanciers is to sort it at the AGM. In order to do it properly someone would have to propose at the AGM a postal vote be carried out from the members of the relevant organisations with questions being asked that need answers. imo this is the way to get the surest answer we could hope for. So pens out and proposals in, its the MEMBERS who run clubs/feds/national clubs, the officials only follow orders. If a proposal of this nature (postal voting) infringes an existing rule then a proposal to alter or delete the existing rule would also have to be submitted. jmo's mind!!!
  14. .22 will sort that wee problem out
  15. My Da preached that same ethos to me and i was a believer, but i don't think it makes enough difference in the long run though so i just let them sit now Jim.
  16. Working Saturday then going to a Sportsmans dinner Sat Night (speaker is Andy Goram so i imagine it will be a laugh at least), dodging the rain on Sunday!!
  17. Have you picked your judges yet? and when will there be a result? I would have entered but i really have nothing for the class
  18. Sounds like your Old man has similar trust poblems as my own had with me
  19. Sorry i don't mean i have the tickets on me, i ordered them from the Sec so they are safe enough. If Andrew has your details your tickets are there for you.
  20. Aye, i've got ma tickets. I'll probably spend the night at the hotel and have a few halfs that night, as a rule i'm Tea Total but i'm gonna enjoy myself at this one. I've done in plenty too that i regretted, but like yourself i live/die by my decisions
  21. Honestly i got a Ch hen along with 5 others from a good friend/fancier, i hated the sight of it as it would wrestle about with its tail up every time i picked it up. That hen became known in my loft as the Money Spinner, as you could put the kettle on for her when she was in the basket. She also bred a good Ck who was like a dart in the hand, i was embarrassed handing this Ck over at marking time, he was eventually called Told You So and won just over £3000 in 5 seasons racing to me. He in turn is the Gsire to my 1st West section Ypres this year. I wouldn't show her either cos she wrestles the same as her GGDam!! On my Life this is true. All from a hen you would no doubt have binned, and i nearly done it myself, i disliked her so much.
  22. Unlike me then as i have taken very good positions and very good money with doos i wouldn't dream of putting in the show pen.
  23. Unlike the shows, a bird that either doesn't settle in your hand or holds its tail up or whatever else i don't like will still win races, so generally i only enter birds that sit well in my hand in the shows. Ps. i didn't say they were Down on body weight, i said i don't Fatten them.
  24. I took my usual dozen latebreds and left them in the natural loft. I also brought some well bred Yb's in from a couple of good lofts, though they could have raced i decided to let them sit 'til next year. (25 birds in the section including the LB's) I admit i have a few too many doos now but i will sort them out in time. My best birds over the last 10 years have all been latebreds and i wouldn't go a year without them I never train my latebreds, at the yearling stage i treat them just like those who have raced.
