In nearly all cases, the guy who wins the Fed Averages has generally been at the top of the results sheet every week, from start to finish, maybe have a bad race in there somewhere but the consistency in the loft ensures he will be nearer the top than the bottom of the results on a regular basis, the exception is when you have a smash of a race and only a handful in race time, eliminating the majority of the members. This is how it goes every year in Lanarkshire because if your gonna win our Averages your doos will need to be way Beyond Average to achieve it!! My Da nearly done it in 1995, he won 9/12 old bird races in the club and took an avalanche of Fed tickets. We had 1 bad race, Cheltenham, 3rd club in a sticky race, when we were 40 mins behind the Fed topper. Jim Cameron of Uddingston won them that year i'm sure, on a decimal from a 3 man partnership from Cambuslang club in second, canny mind their names (Corr, Coyle & Graham???) with my Da 3rd 1.3 Yd's behind them. I'm sure most average winners across the Feds are performing like this too, that is why i think the man who wins the Averages is the best fancier in his respective Fed.
