Returning Birds

Is it the weather? The time of year? Or have they been in somewhere and let out and headed home?

 

A youngster missing from the first young bird race came home Saturday at 8.00pm A yearling missing from Ypres came home Sunday morning. And today at 12 - a youngster missing from a training toss in July - and not yet raced - came home full of corn

I am 21 short from last weekend , none working home or reported odd number to loose in what was a good race for others around

I was 23 down from the Tow Law race 2 wks ago, got one back on Tues and 1 retirned from another fancier so still 21 down

Got 1 old hen lost about 2 month ago + 1 youngster back from maybe 4 weeks ago both last week a day between some times yid wonder .

Very much the same here Andy in the N/west of Ireland, 100s of Ybs lost but very few getting reported or making their way back home

On saying that though i have lost 15 youngsters half my team contemplating stopping for the year.

we are seeing "web pictures" of many being shot Pat . if theyve had a tough race , down for a feed or drink , and .......

That’s strange as I’m same had a bird that disappeared from first race to turn up now after 5 weeks lol and looking well so what’s going on.

Got 1from tow law,flown down but crop full,glad to see it back only 5more to come.

The days i got back these birds there was a change of wind direction to S/E from a wind constantly blowing from the West .

Just got two back today. One from a race on 11th August, the other from a race on 16th August.
