What does fowk think regards youngsters being jumped forward ie 2races x 60 then 50 odd miles farer on for next race making it 110/120 ,do you think they will handle 50 odd mile jump ok .

If they cant, you’d need to have a look at the pigeons, as healthwise something would be wrong

yes i do . often send later young out to 130 odd mile , they cope fine .

We train our Ybs from 15 out to 35mls and then lift them into the first race which is 101mls.

Some of your fellow members in the North Fed jump them 200 mile to the youngbird national. You should maybe purchase some from them at the Fed sales

Aye i ken bit like i always say any body can jump doos 200 hundred mile for the national its getting them hame thats the hard bit .

There was a fellow ex fed member that jumped his youngeens 230 mile in to the national and was 4th we them. If there fit and healthy theft should be able to handle the jump nea probs IMO.

Do you not think the terrain make a difference ? West Cumbria is not the best of places and they have to do a dog leg from the Morecambe/Blackpool area.
