Cliftonlad Posted July 1, 2017 Report Posted July 1, 2017 and force pigeons to have a night out with all the hazards we are faced with in this sport these days I suppose that's ok for all north birds to have a night out then. My *expletive removed*.
Dooheed 5 Posted July 1, 2017 Report Posted July 1, 2017 and force pigeons to have a night out with all the hazards we are faced with in this sport these days Summed it up perfectly

novo10 Posted July 1, 2017 Report Posted July 1, 2017 Midday liberation Derek that would make it a fairer race !! They canna have that A fairer race is up first thing in morning and birds in on night not a lottery making doos sleep out
hotrod Posted July 1, 2017 Report Posted July 1, 2017 A fairer race is up first thing in morning and birds in on night not a lottery making doos sleep outNot against mid day libs but would agree up first thing is better for all ,first thing meaning 5 am /5-30 at latest .
novo10 Posted July 1, 2017 Report Posted July 1, 2017 Not against mid day libs but would agree up first thing is better for all ,first thing meaning 5 am /5-30 at latest .Defo stuart
hotrod Posted July 1, 2017 Report Posted July 1, 2017 Defo stuartGoing up at 5am would give the guys in north a good chance of getting birds on night ,but waiting till 7am ish only the south guys have a realistic chance on the night .
Delboy Posted July 1, 2017 Report Posted July 1, 2017 With respect gents, ye are talking pi sh. It is a proven fact that a midday -1pm over lib over 550 miles is a fairer race as all birds are out and all are equally fresh in the morning. This takes away a percentage of the fatigue factor and distance kills theory, hence making it slightly fairer for all. Granted, the dream is a doo on the shift from an early lib and that's what we all want BUT fairness isn't present in the doo game.I agree with Stu on the early lib of 5am. Don't think for a minute I want a midday lib but im not 100% against it on this basis.

Delboy Posted July 1, 2017 Report Posted July 1, 2017 Derek with respect your talking sh** it's a lottery with a midday lib fact Its a *expletive removed* lottery either way lol, percentage wise its fairer with late lib, that is factual but, don't get me mixed up with someone that doesn't want the one on the night m8.

Delboy Posted July 2, 2017 Report Posted July 2, 2017 (edited) If you are a member of the SNFC read the convoyers report for each race in the year book which gives you a detailed account of when the birds were watered and fed during the journey to the racepoints. The convoyer is meant to be at the Agm to answer any questions regarding the races but he hasn't been in attendance for a few years now and still , nothing is done about it. Delboy Posted July 2, 2017 Report Posted July 2, 2017 Did you raise the point at the AGM. more than once Jock
Delboy Posted July 2, 2017 Report Posted July 2, 2017 Remember when the late, great Bobby Carruthers used to take the floor at the Agm and explain everything down to a fine detail that was on the convoyers report.
Rebus Posted July 2, 2017 Report Posted July 2, 2017 more than once JockWell it wasn't raised last year Derek, the president was the convoyer at three of the races last year and wasn't questioned on any race.
Delboy Posted July 2, 2017 Report Posted July 2, 2017 Well it wasn't raised last year Derek, the president was the convoyer at three of the races last year and wasn't questioned on any race. That's true, as I was very surprised Reims wasn't mentioned.
Rebus Posted July 2, 2017 Report Posted July 2, 2017 That's true, as I was very surprised Reims wasn't mentioned. So was I. But we are straying from the original post by mr Wright.
