I watched somebody take photographs the other day, and he had an old wooden round ruler - a length of dowel about 2foot long would do maybe half inch thickness, and he gently put this under the pigeons neck area stroking the throat to coax the head to lift and neck to lengthen, it was very interesting to watch him get the bird into a posing position

Watched van Hannah take hundreds of photos and he is tops at what he does . For me it is only a bit of fun . I only have iPads so both hands are occupied :emoticon-0136-giggle: . No stick to manoeuvre bird and no stick to clean $hit.
