jont Posted September 12, 2016 Report Posted September 12, 2016 fantastic flying john, how would they come into you in a straight line from arbroath to you, with a south/west windNo last night they came mostly from the east it was saw wind here but my birds have been very healthy this year and I took full advantage of the conditions, also none were on darkness and most 2 to four nest flights but I guess it was mostly luck and if I am honest I would never have picked the first few , I it felt like a race from 100 miles first bird at 1649 then about a dozen in the next hour cheers davie

VMS Posted September 12, 2016 Report Posted September 12, 2016 Maybe no the winner but best performanceAll about opinions mate, but for me the birds in the NW blow that right wan out the water

How far had your youngsters been before the race. Did you fly the federation programme or did you send with another fed to get more distance. Did they have private training?
tiger Posted September 13, 2016 Report Posted September 13, 2016 That's pi sh, the times should be phoned in or it should be *expletive removed* out. Too much childish pi sh and dodgy stuff going on to allow this type of thing. This was brought up at agm and throw out so there's no one in favour of it one vote if I recall
JohnQuinn Posted September 13, 2016 Report Posted September 13, 2016 A canny agree way the phoning in your time Derek. I do it out of habit now but cannot agree with forcing a cost onto some fanciers and not everyone. It's almost like getting penalised £1.50 ++ for getting yer doo back in good time and those members unlucky not tae time don't have any additional costs after entry. If it was a Free call I think more would do it but it's doon tae each individual whether or no they phone in their time.and if they choose no tae phone then IMO that's their prerogative. What I canny see is a Benefit tae the race/club or fanciers for phoning in. I don't want tae know anybody's time before I go way Ma clock because until I hear I'm beat at the club I'm winning the race and it makes race day a much better experience for me Not tae know other's times. Jmo.
HughCurrie40 Posted September 13, 2016 Report Posted September 13, 2016 Quite agree in what you say john

Jmo. I agree John and as Tiger said it was discussed at the agm before and nobody wanted it. What im saying is, common decency , with respect for your fellow fancier should make you let them know about any early arrival you may have. You should be able to email, text or free call your arrival.ps. Me personally, Ive always been thrilled to phone in my arrival and put it on the libline. Edited September 13, 2016 by Delboy

jimmydoo Posted September 13, 2016 Report Posted September 13, 2016 Phone calls are used in NFC races and times shown online as race develops, we all know what happened there! All times are made official when clocks are checked not with a phone call. Nobody bothers phoning in club or Fed times, why should national racing be any different?
