By the time we get a launch code faslane and Westminster will have been taken out and whoever is in charge of the sub won't know if he's to fire or not

You are right George ,and if they are not bothering with border control ,when they said that was the reason for pulling out of the euro, with taking in 20,000 refugees that the UK and USA created by bombings yet the USA takes none in. are we being told by the USA to do this .but 20,000 will be come 500,000 when they appeal to get there uncles out of Syria .then how silly the leave camp will look. The amount employed directly and indirectly from the base is massive if it was closed the local area would become a ghost town like Dunoon did after the Americans left.I do not believe these MPs that voted no are fit for purpose and the sooner this country gets rid ov the SNP the better IMO.We must have a nuclear deterrent and I believe the defence budget should be increased greatly in the world we live in today

If the British Goverment want to renew Trident let them go ahead and do it but move them to somewhere in England where their elected representatives voted for their renewal.It is perfectly clear that the people of Scotland have made it clear that they have no use for weapons of mass destruction based on the Clyde.I make this comment safe in the knowledge that my credentials are impeccable as I bore arms for the British monarchy as a young man.

Would it matter if they were based in England. If Russis or China fired them do you think the Scottish central belt would not have any aimed near them??

I am on holiday just now not once have I.heard the US TV mention we voted to renew Trident.

 

personally if I were in charge I would move them from Scotland at Scotlands cost in fact every Mod, Navy and RAF base would be moved to Northern Ireland and the Shetland where they would be made most welcome.
