JohnQuinn Posted July 14, 2016 Report Posted July 14, 2016 north west is still a north wind with the distance, time on the wing, tiredness the further flying birds shouldn't even be in the hunt a strange comment from you john Distance time in the wing or motivation should not be an issue for National entries, if it is they shouldn't be there. 1976 Jock Poole got the wind he craved from Rennes and won 1st Open, the wind was N/W so IMO ave a chance of repeating it.
Henrik Posted July 14, 2016 Report Posted July 14, 2016 What, nobody moaning about basketing on a Tues when we could have made it there basketing a day later and then had a holdover till Monday or Tues nxt week, strange people these pigeon folk

Would go as far as to say it's probably the Only wind direction west central birds have of taking 1st Open. Jmo.

Delboy Posted July 14, 2016 Report Posted July 14, 2016 I came in about an hour ago and looked at my base station in the shed. Id left the door open about a foot and the sun had roasted the hell out it. The screen had turned blue and was unreadable. I turned everything off and cooled it down and turned it on again after half an hour and its back to normal. I think ive been lucky coming back in when I did as it could've been a lot worse. Be warned, keep your base station out of the sun.
