eastcoaster Posted May 1, 2016 Report Posted May 1, 2016 You keep good company lol top doo man to have on the end of the phoneIt is first time I have spoke to him mate and will not lie I was a bit nervous to speak to him but he is such a nice guy , I have bought a few from mark and this one I have coming he was glad to advise me on a new cross that go really well with the southfield supreme birds I have .And think he was indeed 123 open .
VMS Posted May 1, 2016 Report Posted May 1, 2016 Nice guy good fancier but sends 100 birds in comparison to others sending 2 or 5 law ov avarages
eastcoaster Posted May 1, 2016 Report Posted May 1, 2016 Nice guy good fancier but sends 100 birds in comparison to others sending 2 or 5 law ov avaragesAs Eddie Newcombe proved when Snfc put 12 bird limit he still won and lifted a load of cash .Mark has sent 100 birds and won with his pooler and got slated so he sends 1 and wins national and still gets slated .Who decide,s how many you send to a race , you , who decides how many the macs send , the macs , we all have the choice but if you think someone wins 3 international races by being a mob flyer that is what is wrong in our hobby , jealous . Jmo

JmoAm not jealous don't compete against him just stating a fact, would rather have birds from the fancier that done well only sending a few against his 100 in a location further north, good luck to him,and can't recall the last time the Macs sent 100 and can't recall the macs winning 500 mile races so no comparison can be drawn

You still have to condition the birds to win the races .
geordie1234 Posted May 2, 2016 Author Report Posted May 2, 2016 I don't buy into this numbers malarky...hes a national flyer who goes tothe bicc bbc nfc and internationals for years he has send the lot to the first or second national to get the fit.... as eastcoaster says he has sent one and won the national

R&KMORRISON Posted May 2, 2016 Report Posted May 2, 2016 Top class flyer man knows his birds well done MARK GILBERT
Novice Posted May 2, 2016 Report Posted May 2, 2016 I think I may have read something from CAthrine Cooper at the weekend saying they had bred Marks first 3 birds.I could be wrong but that was the conclusion I drew from her post.

Novice Posted May 2, 2016 Report Posted May 2, 2016 Mark said on video the first 2 were grand children of southfield supreme .I just checked her Facebook post there. She says "we were 5th National with Mark Gilbert in the centre taking the first 3. All 3 were bred in the stock loft so that proves we have it right there."She doesn't say whose stock loft but infers it is Coopers. Maybe they share a stock loft I don't know. It's a bit ambiguous.
