Some top class performances from a top racer, had a look at the 2013 clermont result and the bird has been so unlucky to miss the last section prize!!!! But with the above list of performances this is not a gold award winner unfortunately. :partick-thistle-Crest:

Why

Only four sect prizes and not enuff miles....the race with no sect prize.....the miles don't count. ....I think that's right

Steven I'm lead to believe it's open or section or miles

I couldn't argue with you mate.....think if it didn't get a section prize then it doesn't count.....has happened to me more than once......still a guid doo

Looking at page 14 (rule 10)of this year's book it's easy enough to see how it can be interpreted as a Gold Award winner.

However

Looking at page 15(rule 14) the line that sticks out is

For clarification only those within 1 in 10 in each section will qualify for a gold award.

definitely room for error

Open or section miles has a different meaning from open and section miles which applies to this bird and this claim, smashing bird, but unfortunately it does,nt qualify for a gold award IMO

You weren't "lead to believe" when you came onto this thread you KNEW the rules and the award was won within the rule.

You were wrong then and you have made a complete fool of yourself trying to defend this disgraceful Abuse of the rule. If Mr Turpie has any decency he will return the award at the AGM and send the bird to win it properly. I say Mr Turpie because his partner has no credibility or decency.

No Offence Cracking Doo but Award Should be withdrawn imo ! If this Award Stood it Would be very Disrepectful to Members and their birds who have equalled these Performances in the past and received no Accolade !!

The sport and it's rules have been written to always looking for ways to throw a performance out, which I don't particuarly like, this is a cracking bird with great performances, the award has been presented and should not be withdrawn IMO, but the rules clearly need to be made clearer as you would need a philidelphia lawyer to understand them, reading the opinions on here nobody can agree the interpritation.

No award , its as simple as that, theres no debate here. Im surprised at some folk not knowing these basic SNFC rules. :emoticon-0179-headbang:

I'm not saying this bird did or didn't qualify, but it has been awarded rightly or weongly and I think it should stand, if it didn't qualify then the committee shouldn't have awarded it and this is where their is some room for interpretation on the rule of qualification. IMO

I agree. This will be the first Gold Award I know of that's been awarded or applied for without 5 or more section prizes.

A mistake has been made. It can either be covered up or rectified.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out what is the best option for the officials and members of the club going forward.

Can I ask why you are saying that because I would put my full trust in john mccord

I I agree 100% del. plenty of very good birds before haven't won a gold award for the very same reason , if this is allowed then they should look back and award them to all the others , which to me would make a mockery of the very prestigious award, not taking anything away from this top class bird but rules are rules I'm afraid .

I am also surprised that so many don't know the rules mate,as you say no debate here

Maybe the just like racing their birds? Ave never been tae a AGM in my life.....probably never will.....don't pretend to kbow the rules verbatim.......I know that if my velocity is the highest then I will win .......if all is equal.
