i looked at the deposits of grit and minerals on the beaches in the Summer . must pop back with a bag and spade , its at a price i like too :emoticon-0136-giggle:

If your pigeons free range they will pick their own grit. Most propriety grits are similar with only slight variations. Grit / sand from the beach will have iodine, etc in it. Soil from mole hills will be full of nutrients also. Free range pigeons pick their grit from a range of places depending on their needs at the time.

Find a grit from your local suppliers and add to it as you feel necessary especially if your pigeons are on a controlled system. :)

the jann :animatedpigeons: sen brothers,made their own grit up,from the beach etc, they had quite good birds,(the best).

my pigeons only seem to like red grit,that sea shell grit they just flick it about n dont bother with it,red grit they love that.

the world is your oyster papa b,since we are talking about grit minerals etc, does anybody use seaweed?

The grit from the beach has most likely been mixed with sea weed and other minerals, must have something in it as I see lots of batches of racers on the beach ,

Tried matrix on second thoughts nae impressed ,i like the yellow grit and mineral blocks you get Natural I think they are called .
