How safe are the tobacco stalks we use for nest materials when an article on bird safety say that all parts of the tobacco plant is poison us to birds

Always used em ! Never had or heard of anybody else with problems with any Doos being poisoned ??

expletive remove poison don't think so . Have seen pigeons building nest with rusty nails and worse. Only thing I would say about the stalks is make sure you cut them short enough .

We all know they contain nicotine thats the poison but the pigeons dont suck on it so no problem but why dont you just give the hedge or bushes near you a trim or straw cheaper.

Good. The nicotine is a deterrent for nasty's to boot. Yes price is bad .... but cut to 4 inch lengths are superb material.
