greenbar Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 the wife went shopping today,i asked her to pick some peanuts up,but make sure they are good ones.she came back with a 3kg bag, they were pale in colour, and a bit dry,i heard u can micro wave them for a few sec,s and they,ll be ok,is that right? if not the wild birds will have feast,
Henrik Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 If they are not human quality dont feed them to your birds
Darnaway Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 Totally agree if you wouldn't eat them then don't feed to the birds
PIGEON_MAN Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 Surprised to find out a few weeks ago that the best distance flyer in our area always feeds the cheap ones, wouldn,t myself but when you,ve won the Midland National a few times and also got a string of other good open and section positions how can you argue.
OLDYELLOW Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 stopped feeding peanuts years ago prefer human grade sunflower hearts
Wiley Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 U cannot beat peanuts imo, for sprinting and distance
paulc Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 the wife went shopping today,i asked her to pick some peanuts up,but make sure they are good ones.she came back with a 3kg bag, they were pale in colour, and a bit dry,i heard u can micro wave them for a few sec,s and they,ll be ok,is that right? if not the wild birds will have feast,Greenbar it is a myth that micro waveing peanuts leaves them safe for your pigeons to eat.It is an unseen mould which can be inside as well as outside of the peanuts that can be deadly if eaten by your birds,If you want to feed them peanuts go for the human grade ones,in small amounts at a time
dal2 Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 Have tried many times to feed them but the birds wouldnt have them

peter pandy Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 Pale skin Peanuts from the health food shop are half the price of Red Skin Peanuts and both are suitable for human consumption.
