It's not just about who won what Alec it's all about returns because if it keeps going the ways it's been these last few years then it will be finished as a sport sooner that you think .

Just checked the results there Alec Maidstone and I must say ,although the first west bird was only 219th open , in a west ,north west wind might I add ,but this race seemed to be a cracking race returns wise with multiple timings very close together . The races you spoke about , well the returns tell the true story .

Long time since i put a bird over the water but why dosnt racing turn to the East and race say from the likes of Oslo would that not be fair all round to North lofts and South lofts alike just a thought sensible answers noo lads .It is about 500mls to Aberdeen or ,Aalburg Denmark 450mls ,there used to be races from Faroes across the atlantic and Pentland firth.

Good post m8, theres nothing fair in this sport but we can only try and balance things a wee bit. Problem is, folk with major advantage don't want fairness, simple as that.

if it was meI would have the birds at all the old race points that served us well for years sartilly / rennes / nantes bring the birds up the cherbourg penninsula that my opinion

Us Peter's will stick to-gether on this one and I would definately second that. We have had jobbie racing since leaving the Cherbourg Peninsular route and why does English racing continental clubs all favour that route. Oh AYE and dump the stupid inland libs as well. SIX 500+ mile races just might encourage distance racing again.

do u think we have enough old pigeons for 6 channel races,

i think 4 would be fine and one portsmouth race which is bang in the middle of england on the coast then pigeons can come both ways into scotland fair for all

portsmouth would be race good race for yearling 2 test them. also a yearling derby also 2 races in one.

Just as I thought no answers , facts are facts , if only folk would open theirs eyes instead of looking for there own advantage ,it's just the same at fed level .

who gets the advantage when liberated in the middle of england when pigeons can come both sides of the pennines into scotland.

Scotland in a dog leg, direct south of edinbugh is liverpool, dont think you get it dkj.you need to fly from ireland to make it fairer.

makes no difference the winning pigeons come into scotland up the tramlines the a1 or the m6 unless the wind was to strong then they would alter a bit more east or west.

Got to Agree Davy

My view for what it's worth would duplicate what you are saying

Your results speak for themselves from the distance Good pigeons worked on a good system coming on line

Jock Alston's Renstrie Reward came past me that night South of lockerbie whilst I was training youngsters

Direct on line up the motorway

As you rightly state Portsmouth on the south coast is the line pigeons will hold coming from the channel

Great idea yearling Derby

Plenty of flat countryside before they hit the Pennines

Should be back at Rennes that's part of our history

Lofts from all over scotland won from there

But the bottom line Bloody Good Pigeons

Who gets the advantage davie ????? Well everybody east of me end of , but that's not why I would prefer eastern race points ,it's all about good races and good returns , if it's a bad race the only happy guys are the ones that's well in ,if it's a good race everybody is happy but the happiest of all are still the guys that are well in . Surely u must agree with that ?

you sit a bad area. port glasgow but i think the best chance you got 2 win in the snfc. is coming up over the solway and never out the east far 2 much of a dogleg for anyone on the west coast coming from the east side of scotland

In a perfect world davie yes I agree 100% , but the way the racings been these last couple of years I'm of the opinion is easterly race points is the way to go , I'm not in it just for me !it's for everyone , look at Maidstone a steady race with great returns , Ypres the same , but the others not much short of disasters !apart from the blow home inland race .

stu you no as well as me when you got the doo.s right they come home from most races east or west but the best chance of winning is when they come direct from the south and not the east as they are dogleg into central/west of scotland. winning pigeons come as tight as possible when winning and the best line is the m6/a74 for central scotland

I see more pigeons on a national night, whether inland or channel, passing over head from other feds/areas than i do on any given racing saturday

No need to say any more on this subject ,it's just all about best chance of winning , no matter the cost .
