andyyy Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 just what the title says really, how many clubs do you be in before you settle in one for a while? I started racing pigeons in 2010 joining as a yb member, 2012 i joined another club again to fly ybs that year and right about now i think im in need of another club for a few reasons. how many clubs have you guys been members of in the past? or are you loyal to one club?
paddymac Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 You'll answer that question yourself Andy when you find a club that your happy with .
Wiley Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 I personally think if you want to become a better fancier, you must compete against the best fanciers. If you are not competing against the best in your federation or combine, then that is the only time I'd be looking to join a different club, as I want to compete against the best.

andy Burgess Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 i have been in 3 clubs now. first 2 for 3 years ,moving house each time. next year will be our 4th season in Gladsmuir P.C. had i not moved home i would have happily stayed in any of them.
REDCHEQHEN Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 Blimey - do people get a choice? Clubs have 'radiuses' or is that 'radii', In our neck of the woods they don't overlap - so the choice is err - one clubIf you call that a choice - or join the National Clubs - and travel miles and miles to basket your birds - no thanks!!
alex young Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 I'm in 3 clubs but only send in one of them.I stopped midweek racing as I got fed up being out 4 nights of the week doing pigeons,in my local club the membership took a dive with only 4/5 sending each week so I now send my birds with Sankey Bridges which most weeks send 200/300+ birds.Things change quickly in pigeon racing so I wouldn't resign from any of the clubs.
geordie1234 Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 First club was in for one season then had to move because I took up a peice of land which ment I needed to join Cambuslang. Only in one club just now as when racing in Cambuslang you are not allowed to send pigeons with any other club
PIGEON_MAN Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 First club was in for one season then had to move because I took up a peice of land which ment I needed to join Cambuslang. Only in one club just now as when racing in Cambuslang you are not allowed to send pigeons with any other club Does that mean local clubs or does it prevent you joining a National club as well.
Kyleakin Lofts Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 I have joined two local clubs, one north and the other south. They are both very competitive clubs which is ideal. If I ever manage to get in the cards, then I'll also be in the Federation cards most times.
geordie1234 Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 Does that mean local clubs or does it prevent you joining a National club as well.No we join nationals that's no prob You can actually join another club but you can't send pigeons in both clubs in the same season
BIGPETE Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 I envy you if you have a choice! I only started up this year but was rejected by 3 clubs and then accepted by one which is a long way from me (35 min drive to the clubhouse).
