a bit harsh for a clerical error

 

the team didn't play the player the last 2 games

thinking that was his ban served,

but they forgot to register him or something like that

then he got put on in the 86th minute an honest mistake

and the game was over by then 6-1 so he couldn't influence the result

 

did something similar not happen with an English club and cologne

cologne played a 4th overseas player ( substitute )when there was the 3 player rule

in that case they played a replay

I think it is important to point out that it was actually UEFA who spotted this, and was not bought to the attention of any one by Celtic.

How ever, personally, on current form I don't think Celtic should be back in.JMO

correct when you dont play by the rules you get demoted, but fare play to uefa for correcting a wrong not like the SFA
