JohnQuinn Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 Looking forward to the Opening Ceremony tonight and the start of the games tomorrow. Miraculously the sun is out to welcome the athletes to Scotland. Think we could have the best ever medals total with it being a Home Games for our boys and girls, here's hoping anyway.
Kyleakin Lofts Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 We have had the Ghanian team visit our Arena and gave the kids a mini competition. We have the Scotland team using our place as their base camp for training etc and they will be coming to some of our sessions to talk to the kids. We also have the possibility of the Jamaican team coming along for a visit, so good times for our kids having this opportunity.
Guest stb- Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 was talking to someone today and they said there village just outside lenzie is being locked down from 6 am in morning till 11.30pm curfew no one allowed out or in . Apparently been told to either stay out or take a days annual leave from work and stay in . :emoticon-0127-lipssealed: for security reasons for some time trial thing
JohnQuinn Posted July 23, 2014 Author Report Posted July 23, 2014 Small price to pay for having such a high profile event in our LITTLE country Rab. Of cousre Scots give attitude to anything that upsets the dailly routine and invent things that they were gonna do just to lend weight to the arguement. The recent tv programs on Dalmarnock and its regeneration just shows alkies and wasters on it greetin that their place and community are gone forever, as if it was worth greetin aboot. The place was derelict with little or no opportunities for kids growing up there but the jakies, junkies and just plain twisted have been greetin for 4 years instead of seeing the improvements in the place and welcoming it!! jmo

I wouldnt say its a small price to pay for somthing thats no benefit to the community there locking up for 24 hrs ..Mind you i have never watched the commonwealth games before anywhere so im prob biased as they dont interest me .Gie me the world cup anyday lol

Guest stb- Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 Anyone with a career or money won't be buying a house in Dalmarnock believe methats no whit the cooncilor said the new accomadation wont be going tae folk fae dalmarnock said it wid be carrer people who can afford the houses
JohnQuinn Posted July 23, 2014 Author Report Posted July 23, 2014 thats no whit the cooncilor said the new accomadation wont be going tae folk fae dalmarnock said it wid be carrer people who can afford the houses No quite Rab, 700 units will be available after the games. 400 will be allocated to locals as new hooses and 300 will be sold privately. Al bet ye London tae an Orange the 400 are run doon in 5 years and those who buy will want oot as soon as tae get away fae the wasters. Of all the things they could have shown in the area they picked the Worst examples of our country and made them the focal point of the program. The only thing worse that i've seen lately was that first 10 mins of the opening ceremony, naebody dressed right, singin songs that irnae songs and 2 guys kissin and runnin away hawdin hawns expletive remove , that disane represent the Glasgow or Scottish community in the least. Can only imagine an Englishman choreographed it. Nae wunner they kept it under wraps til the night.

harry h Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 After watching the opening ceremony the English will be hoping that we all vote yes for Independence.
THE FIFER Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 whoever was responsible for that must have had mash mallows in his head,
REDROCKET Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 I haven't seen it yet but the way everyone's going on about it the people responsible should be horse whipped expletive remove
billt Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 I don't think it's a bad show, remember this is the Commonwealth Games, nothing like the money they spend on Olympic Games and well to remember when you vote later this year, this is the Commonwealth you are part of and I don't have an agenda so all the best whatever you decide
