Delboy Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 I will as I always do go with the majority to whatever ever programme that the fed decide but in my honest opinion I want my youngsters down the east... For one reason only. ... the way the racing has been this season its inevitable we will be racing east next season anyway..

For one reason only. ... the way the racing has been this season its inevitable we will be racing east next season anyway..Everyone to their own opinion but look at last years yb season everybody raved about it with only the odd youngbirds going missing from the exact same race points not even a year ago but if you actually look at the returns overall this year it isn't that bad but have say some races have been a bit erratic and if people are honest about the whole thing they should cast their mind back to last years racing down the east which there was lots of birds going missing and not even turning up weeks later. The important thing in all this is the pigeons welfare

ALF Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 Last years race programme meeting was the first I huvnae voted east I decided not to vote and see how it goes down the west but to be honest from Middleton on we have lost a lot of birds I'm not sure if it is the west route or the race points we we are at but people who were always for the west route in our club are saying they wont send down the west with the fed again this season and I know a few people have been sending with south Lanarkshire because the racing has been that erratic lately
bigjamie Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 spot on tommybhoy it will have to get sorted out now there too much people not willing to send there ybs down the west these people pay there dues the same as us all they are talking about sending there ybs with south lanarkshire as trainers god have a look at the total birdage the past few weeks tells it all these birds are getting slaughtered down this rout and short birdage like that cant be good for our federations balance
Guest chad3646 Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 jimmy pigeons will home from anywhere come on now auld yin its the bop thats stopping them in the hills a take it there is no hills in the east

Bauld Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 There is a small patch of the country that does make racing very risky in my opinion, bop numbers are on the increase everywhere making no racing point in the country totally safe but there is a concentration of them in this area around the peak district national park. http://i1118.photobucket.com/albums/k614/allybauld/Map_zps09d412e5.png The Nottingham trent university are very proud of their peregrine nest. That map shows its proximity to Uttoxeter and is just north of Leicester. Any pigeons coming up from Warwick will also pass very close to that area. As well as that peregrine cam in Nottingham there is also a peregrine cam at the Sheffield University which is almost in line with our race points further north again. There is also another peregrine cam at derby cathedral between Uttoxeter and Nottingham. It would suggest the peak district national park is absolutely stuffed with peregrines. http://www.peregrinecam.co.uk/ ''The Newton building at Nottingham Trent University has been the home for the last ten years to a breeding pair of peregrine falcons, who nest on a ledge outside near the top. The nest site has been successfully used to raise 17 chicks over the past six years. Watch live footage with us over the next few months as they lay eggs and rear their chicks. - See more at: http://www.peregrinecam.co.uk/#sthash.CHctCBmf.dpuf''
tommy bhoys Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 a take it there is no hills in the eastyip hills and bop in east jimmy but nt the same type of valleys thats in the west where our birds are being stopped and turned its a long time since you flew pigeons things have changed big time jimmy as i said we had gd young bird racing last year but poor old bird this year

peter2010 Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Well see if everybody sung off the the same hymn sheet and done their bit we could have a trouble free route home for our birds fact is east west north south no different between them and if you look where lanarkshires race points are maybe we should try going truely west instead of Central but jmo
