Guest Gareth Rankin Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 you dont disappoint me gareth i know you canny count pigeon racing is a hobby and meant tae be enjoyable seeing birds hawked each week is not enjoyable I agree, but don't kidd yourself that the west is any worse than the east, so far this season I have had 5 pigeons damaged with hawk flying down the M6 but can remember one race alone from Selby down the east where I had 4 damaged with the hawk. When it comes to BOp's there is now no difference between east or west.

tiger Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 IT NOW LOOKS LIKE, THE NOT SO WISE, goes west, and tries to justify the losses as the same in the East when the lanarkshire in down about 2,500 birds since the first race.we started with about 8,000 birds we are racing 3,000 just now, and maybe there are 2,500 at home JUST NOW, but that leaves us 2,500 missing and with the east winds that we have had, the losses have been from the west side of the country. but you can only mention this to some, as others have nothing beetween there earsin the centre where the birds come the hills funnel the birds and make it easy for percy two nail them. also the west side has the most highly densely populated peregrines in northern Europe ie Cumbria
Novice Posted May 31, 2014 Report Posted May 31, 2014 The simple fact is that birds who have a home loft in the west must pass all the obstacles which the west has to offer. There is no way to avoid this.

When it comes to BOp's there is now no difference between east or west.If the truth be told the east is no better than the west the 2 worst races I recall Was on the east route (weatherby and Consset ) both times I lost half my team .And all this talk is a waste of time it's been repeated over and over again, now there Is no safe route.
