bigjamie Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 homer these things are destroying our sport i spoke to a guy at the feeding place yesterday and he had five home all been hawked poor flipping birds have no chance 2yrs ago i lost 18 ybs out of 30 and only got one reported and never seen them again that was with 2 perigrines going into them

Dmurray Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 Sometimes I wonder if we are the cruel ones as we know the issues sending our pigeons.... bloody disgrace poor doos getting fkn murdered at every turn It's part and parcel now with the sport m8 we got hammered last week with members losing 13 and two losing 9 and a couple losing 6 and that's just in 1 club , personally IMO is that it's more than just the hawks that's wiping uz out a don't agree with these early morning libs from 100 and 150 mile mark a heavy thunder storm or low fog will wipe a batch of doos out quicker than a Percy will , IMO this is why there are lots of yearlings missing older doos are wiser and sit down or try go round where yearling are daft and try go through imo
geordie1234 Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 The weather was spot on for Lanarkshire fed mate..... the guys in cumbria canny even let their doos out and we are sending 7200 dinners one percy can turn a whole batch... lanarkshire split into 2 batches then left the point high up in the sky if percy turnt one off those batches and they went south with the heat some doos would be dehydrated and wouldn't make it up the road...

A heard the hills at Moffat to Galashields had low laying cloud for most of the morning with thick fog patches in low laying areas and IMO is if they pigeons got chased south they will try up but ours never last week and not Many of your fed has this week

This is the problem people hear this or hear that without really digging deep Into it when adding their own bits on

This is the problem people hear this or hear that without really digging deep Into it wven adding their own bits on Well m8 af got family in the borders and they informed me on Saturday morning that around Hawick hills there was low cloud cover that never cleared right till late morning
geordie1234 Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 That explains why our contact said it was fine as he must be about 40 mile away from hawick... I dont think our doos shoulda been there

Guest Gareth Rankin Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 There's no much difference between east and west now Derek, the hawks are everywhere, even down to getting hit with Peregrines around the lofts hereCorrect Bobby, that's why the Lanarshire federation moved back on to it's natural flightpath of the M6 corridor. East or West there's no difference. It's frustrating for all when there is no clear reason why we got a bad race. I still remember the worse race in the feds history, from Wetherby, like Saturday perfect conditions and even then, there was no difined answer. Sadly it won't be the last.

Delboy Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 Correct Bobby, that's why the Lanarshire federation moved back on to it's natural flightpath of the M6 corridor. East or West there's no difference. It's frustrating for all when there is no clear reason why we got a bad race. I still remember the worse race in the feds history, from Wetherby, like Saturday perfect conditions and even then, there was no difined answer. Sadly it won't be the last. Was that not ybs?? expletive remove, yer having disasters with obs at 160 miles, come on now Gareth.
Delboy Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 There's no much difference between east and west now Derek, the hawks are everywhere, even down to getting hit with Peregrines around the lofts here I agree Bobby, there isn't much difference Bobby, but there is a slight difference and what Gareth says about natural flight paths might be right enough BUT we must clear the way first or it becomes a lottery.
tyson Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 Imo the place where lanarkshire liberated was the wrong place middleton is right in the yorkshire dales and that is full of peregrines we were at leyland approx 15mls n west of middleton lib at 8.30 and we had a good race with good returns leading birds were doing over 1600 ypm still think it was your race point that was the problem
