My neighbours have cats and i can see them causing me some problems. I know dunking them in water for a few seconds or so will deter them a bit. But they are a bit hard to catch. I have a dog who will scare them off when she's outside but she lives indoors when I'm not home.

Has anyone used a Ultrasonic/Infrared gizmo, and if so do they work?

Was looking st this sort of thing >>>

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Yard-Sentinel-Repellent-Electronic-Ultrasonic/dp/B00ENQGRRW/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1396294919&sr=8-8&keywords=cat+repeller

Anyone had this problem and found a solution please do post up.

Cheers

Pete the ultra things do work I have them and if positioned properly they do work .i do believe that the

Electric fences are better but not always practical .only time I've found that the ultra sound don't work

Is if it is directed into infinity ,it is better if it can be directed at walls it can echo of ,I have houses all round

Me and I think most have cats ,the one directly behind me has 2 but I don't see them often, before I got my

Ultra gadget they were never away from my place ,good luck.

I use these cat deterent things ,1 solar, 2 rechargeable battery .Before i got them i had 5-6 cats bothering my birds ,there is a guy across the road feeds all the stray cats in the area so you see my prob ,but now since using deterents just 1 cat still hasnt got the hint ,i actually think it is deaf,so have other deterent for it soon.Got them of ebay 14-£15 each.

pete i have a high powered pump up water pistol only cost a fiver, one hit with that and thay dont come back, electric fences work but will upset next door, ps. also you can put all sorts of nasties in the water that cats hate to lick off there fur.

Cheers for all the info lads. If only I could catch the wee *expletive removed* I would courier em up to Walter so he could take em for a long walk and do the bizzo :emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0136-giggle:

PS. On 2nd thoughts I would ship em by G&R so when they go missing it would save Walter a walk :emoticon-0127-lipssealed:

when i first started, i was getting terrible bother with a monster of a ginger tom. Every mornin i got up he was sprawled on the landing board and evenin when i came home from work ..same thing.

i tried water, pellet gun/rifle, running at the bassa half naked :emoticon-0136-giggle: :emoticon-0136-giggle:

even sent to "boddy and rideurpocket" for an ultrasonic which done absolutely .*expletive removed* all in all positions.

an old guy from my club suggested i get a trap and take it across the Foyle, as cats wont cross the bridge for fear of water. Loaned a trap ans set a feww cooked sausages in it. Next morning the bassa is in it snarlin and hissin at me. Now the fckr is acting like a maniac ..and i took fear :emoticon-0136-giggle: :emoticon-0136-giggle:

i grab an oul sack, put trap in it with the tiger inside and drove 6 mile the other side of the river Foyle. I let the bassa go. Job done, proud of mesel and home happy.

2 days later the big fat lazy fckr was sprawled out on me landing board :emoticon-0179-headbang: :emoticon-0179-headbang: :emoticon-0179-headbang:

lesson learnt...nothing will get rid of cats unless you get a dog for the yard :emoticon-0157-sun: or take them a long walk :emoticon-0136-giggle: :emoticon-0136-giggle:
