peter pandy Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 I stopped buying sea fish when I was charged £10 a Kg at Tesco yet it was only £2 a Kg on the quay side. Wonder where the £8 profit went. The raw deal is the fishermen and the consumer.

Wonder where the £8 profit went. The raw deal is the fishermen and the consumer. Yip the fisherman get ripped off something silly . I was at the sea myself for about 18 year one of the things that finished me at it was apart fae missing my bairns was there was 80 to 90 mile wind forecasted instead of going in to Lerwick for shelter our skipper stayed out and dodged as he was to scared that any of us went up to the pub and got drunk he was good living . At the same time as us dodging there was a Peterhead boat sank about 50 mile from us I just .*expletive removed* this ats me finished we this crap . Everyone thinks fisherman must have plenty o money but far from it unless your on one of the top boats and it you worked out the average fisherman s wages over a year to the hours he worked guarantee you it would work out not much more than the minumin wage that's how crap the fishing is noo
