alec guinness Posted September 21, 2013 Report Posted September 21, 2013 A few cracking birds at this sale! well done lanarkshire federation! Personally we will be putting in a youngster from our no 1 stock cock bred by J & J Hood who is 16 years old!He has won races and topped the fed but after an injury as a 2 yr old he was put to stock, where he has bred us and others club, federation and national prize winners. He has bred us birds to score in the SNFC races 2003,2004,2005,2006,2007,2008,2009,2011,2012 and 2013,these races include YB nats, inland nats and 500 mile channel races! The last bird to leave the loft from the cock was 2nd section f Newbury this year in the national for Derek McKinlay Largs beaten by the national winner! He is also g/sire of our silver award winner" Alton's honest lad" and other SNFC prize winners, the dam of the youngster is 100 % Brian Denny York.

Rooster J. Cogburn Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 Good luck with the sale lads, I'd have liked to have made it but can't today unfortunately. A few screamers up for grabs that's for sure. As usual I'd tend to lean towards the legend of John Ellis' doo, special pigeons in the hands of a special fancier.
JohnQuinn Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 Remember you can place commission bids with Jim, Gareth or myself, phone numbers are on the first post, hope to see a lot of you's there though. Nice day for a wee trip too so jump in the car and come along. atvb John.

eastcoaster Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 Have to agree was well run no nonsense by auctioneer my only gripe was not nearly enough sale lists but that aside can I compliment the breeders of a terrific standard of yb in the pens , lot 1 was superb but am happy with lot 3 which has 8 top nat tickets plus a 1st open tours and 2 international positions in top twenty in its g/parents all for £85 well chuffed .
geordie1234 Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 Well done to all involved organising this sale and well done all the breeders and buyers... Lot 1 was an absolute belter and quite rightly fetched top dollar
