dava Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 i would class myself as an invisible member as i am backshift most friday nights but it cant be helped thats what pays the bills and the doos come second in these circumstances i wish i didnt have to work as a lot of lucky fanciers dont but thats life i supose :(

Wiley Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 We had an invisible member, until he moved, in my opinion he was one of the best fanciers in the London area. Many who didn't know him personally thought he had a disability hence the reason for not going up the club. Someone would always bring his birds and Mark them.
BLACK W F Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 he gets a turn but thats all we aint bothered if yer not fit or working thats understandable its the fact he could be there like every one else just taking the p*ss
greenlands Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 We have club members who come every week and are still invisible :emoticon-0138-thinking:
walterboswell59 Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 i know its hard on the guys that do the work every week but thats the way it is its allways been that way same guys every week in every club in the country different if there in the pub we all have a wee moan about it and they have a resonable excuse fair enough if not club officials should pull them up to one side and have a wee word about taking a turn to let one away thats there every week or help in some other way not make a big thing of it
gordi.b Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 Same at our club Walter always the same guys who wait for the transporter every week , i don,t mind really we just have a fish supper while waiting
ALF Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 all depends if theres enough to basket rabalso he/she is dodgeing out on the club work some members would refuse to handle his/her birdsand who could blame them unless theres a valid reason for not attendingthey should be there doing their bit if we all did this who is going to put our birds through :emoticon-0138-thinking:I put a lot of doos through every friday night at our club but 1 member disnae doo anything at all and i have always refused to put his doos through i have never done it yet and never will to be honest!!!
REDROCKET Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 Just like our club when it comes to loading the transporter. Lol
ALF Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 I put a lot of doos through every friday night at our club but 1 member disnae doo anything at all and i have always refused to put his doos through i have never done it yet and never will to be honest!!! And i am not talking about a member who is old and not up to doing anything in the club
geordie1234 Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 In our club most members put through doos no problems the only ones that don't are the older ones that aren't as fit as they used to be and for the transporter 4 members wait behind a rota is done at the start of the season if ye canny make it ye swap with someone and do their turn. but it would dae ma tits in putting through somebody's doos who had no excuse what so ever for not doing there fair share
demolition man Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 I work a lot of late shifts so can't get down the club. without others taking my birds i coundn't race but when i'm at the club i do more than my fair share.

Blue Chequer Pied Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 Our birds are picked up at 5pm for the short races then 12, 10, 8 and even 6am for the longer races. There are some members that cannot make the basketing due to work for any race. I am fortunate enough to be able to work round the basketing times to be there every week as do some of the lads who are self-employed or retired. The lads who can't make the basketing always do their bit at other times either cleaning crates or being there to do the clocks. One guy even sends his wife when he is working and she does a great job helping at basketing.I dont mind for one second putting through birds every week for guys that can't be there due to work. However, if somebody simply chose not to go simply as they did not want to that is another matter all together and would not be tolerated in our club. We are lucky whereby everyone in our club pulls their weight.
sapper756 Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 Personally, I do not have a problem with others standing back, as long as they keepout the way, it's the ones that hang about, never do anything and continue to moan about everything elsehttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0127-lipssealed.gif
