Feel free to add to the list , my top ten thoughts on the well fair of our birds for what it is worth!

1.bad stock

2.badly reared

3.not the bird for your area

4.unconditioned

5.bad housing

6.not fed correctly

7.lack of correct , salts ,minerals ,clean water

8.proper check on moult before sending,especially young !

9.proper training,regime

10.bond with birds

These and plenty more are in my thoughts for the safe return of our birds before we get to any of the external problems ,feel free to add !before they get in basket .

Do you honestly think that will happen Mav?? The time the AGM comes around folk have forgotten and dont give a fk.It shouldve been dealt with by the committee, but wasnt.

you'll never breed a good bird if the management is not up to scratch,like everything in life you only get out of it what you put in.unfortunately all of the things mentioned in the post only makes it that more difficult.

aflotoxins on mouldy feed and you canny see it till its too late

No 1 for me is breeding 80, 90, 100 young birds, to finish the season with what, 20 at best, who has that many decent stock birds to breed that amount and I know Percy is a major problem but they don't eat that amount

yes bill they dont eat them but they kill one and scatter 500 in the attempt and birds get killed and injured getting out the way .

 

i remember tossing a big team of ybs 80 off 15 years back at 20 miles all had been well schooled , percy hit them straight away and i got none that day they headed south and didint come back i got them reported from dumfreis to licoln carlisle brampton and darfeild in yorshire with the name and address rings on so they obviously didint stop after the strike :emoticon-0156-rain::emoticon-0156-rain: got a few home over a few days but not many

No11 unprepared birds not fully fit and experienced eg .latebreds!!!!
