THE FIFER Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 I often float a pair their eggs from ones i want more from, let others rear them
REDCHEQHEN Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 Only because I don't breed many youngsters - one pair from some and 2 pairs from others - but usually float eggs from 1st round so that the pairs I want 2 pairs from only bring up one pair of youngsters But bad start to breeding this year with broken eggs galore in the stock loft!!

REDCHEQHEN Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 ?? did you pair up before Blackpool or ?? 2 weeks before Blackpool (and that was a month later than originally planned.......!) 5 broken eggs - and 2 blanks (old cock hasn't filled an egg for 3 years, winter summer or spring so that was expected, floated single egg to them to see if feeding a baby will get his hormones going) 9 pairs of stock, the hen breaking some of the eggs is no longer in the stock loft (being put back on the road)and that cock is now paired to another hen these things are sent to try us First youngsters should be chipping this Sunday coming
