YESTERDAY JACK AND NADINE WERE OUT AT THE FANTAILS I WAS LOOKING AFTER SAUL IN THE LIVING ROOM CHANGED HIS NAPPY AND WAS GOING TO THE WHEELY BIN AND THERE WAS JACK AND NADINE PULLING THE GREEN LEAVES OF THEIR NANNY'S LILLYS AND FEEDING IT TO THE BIRDS AND THEY WERE HORSING IT INTO THEMSELVES

Didnt feed this myself but I always remember my Grandfather telling me of a fancier years ago who used to feed his birds on potato peelings and rice pudding.

seriously though noting out of the norm only i use a juicer and juice up a lot of fruit and veg and put it onto the corn or into the water

Used a juicer for years , but I don't think it's odd It all started with me that a fancier used the vegetable water from cooking his veg for the vitamins ( which boiling would kill ) so I started juicing ones I felt benefited them also good for getting shut of veg / fruit that needs using up

Have seen my birds peck at worms a few times over the years but I actually saw a cock bird eat one this year

ive not fed them anything strange , but have had youngsters decimate the winter pansies .and in the past gorge themselves on haws .with no ill effects .

Look up wild pansy or viola tricolour , also know to the ancients as heart ease , used by the Romans , Old hand remedy

i left a crate of african marigolds by the loft, they ate them in record time down to the soil,then topped the fed at the weekend. i was pleased,but the mrs was pi**ed as they were for her garden

They must of been lacking something guess they found it at least you didn't have to plant them they saved you a job and paid you back

with a result like that i would be tempted to offer them weekly
