Dooheed 5 Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 would recomend ecco loft's ! had my stock loft built by them .i drew out plan of what i wanted and visited them at the blackpool show. i found them very helpful and reasonbly priced.when it arrived and was erected it was exactly how i wanted it and well built! so i was and still am very happy with this company's service
peter pandy Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 Jim Heeps from Plean built mine and I could not find fault in quality of wood, construction and price. He will quote a price that will not be beaten by anyone. Give him a phone on 01786816278 and arrange a meeting. You have nothing to lose.

Guest Owen Posted September 16, 2011 Report Posted September 16, 2011 I think it is best if you talk to experienced Fanciers before you place an order for a loft. Also go and look at the sort of lofts used by the best Fanciers you know. I am not talking about a polite glance, I am talking about a proper in depth look. Note the system of ventilation, the stocking rate, the way the loft faces and the sort of trapping system they use. In regard to trapping, try to avoid those awful sputnic things because you will need all your birds to be able to land all together so that they never develop the habit of circling due to the fact that there is not enough landing space. Decide on the type of material you want to use and try to make sure that it is built with a decent space underneath to allow air to circulate and to prevent vermin from getting in. Consider a position where you can protect your birds from cats because they are always waiting to have a go at your birds and try to keep the structure away from trees and bushes because Sparrowhawks can and will use the cover to attack your birds. In conclusion I would say that you should take your time over your planning of the loft because if you get it wrong you will be a long time regreting it.
adam owen Posted September 16, 2011 Report Posted September 16, 2011 i would make one or if you cant get some one to build it for you like owen said do away with small sputnick landing boards and try get tha loft facing south this way you will get tha sun all day this will bring condition and form to your birds good vetalation to GET OWEN PUT A PHOTO UP OF HIS NEW LOFT WE BUILT LAST YEAR its tha PERFECT LOFT the resuilts showed tha this year get him put tha resuilts up an all good stuff. he does just fly again his mrs mind ha ha ha ha
